View Full Version : georges 7 x2 x2 1 year on
i thought i would just put a couple of pics up of my system, its a 7x2x2, and its been running for 13 months, this is just the main tank, it also has 2, 2 x 2 x 2 cubes plumbed in on either end, i just wanted to get a bit of feedback, and then ill put a load of pics of the rest of the system and equipment a bit later on , 90% sps and lps, with the odd softie and zoos etc.

13 Months  WOW that is absolutely stunning, It looks like its been going years.
Looks amazing! Truly a 'fish house' from looking at all those tanks and kit :D
hi rocky can only really think of one word "" STUNNING"" keep it up mate carl
Very impressive, it looks very well thought out too
jeez, George, you have got it bad!!! Love the cubes!! Were they added on post set up of large tank??
wow,
so you have three plus a frag tank ?
hows the cube connected up george ?
the frag tank is a seperate entity, basically, its my old reef tank and the cubes run integrally with the main system, all sharing the same sump
which is bieng upgraded in spring to accomadate 600litres of refugium, out through the wall and into my greenhouse.
its growing arms and legs
help
worth it though

so what made you og for 2x2 on each side ??
i went for x 1 low down cabinet at first, just as a bit of extra storage, then looking at it, i thought, that would look good with a cube on it, so i got one for each end, a bit like a winners podium.
and it allowed me to fill up the total length of the wall, which looks better, and it took some plumbing to get it all to work together through the main sump and system.
regards george
george,
i can vouch for that, about 1 week solid to plumb and fresh water test, no leaks either.
rupert
Looks superb George, love the cubes on the end.

Wow great tank and a stunning setup, more photo's please.
some really nice sps corals.
I must say, amongst all the drooling and dazzling of a superb tank, no one has mentioned the need to replace the sofa!
Must be a good one when eyes dont wander from the hardware ;)
Very nice :)
Amazing maturity considering the time it's been running, well done.
More info please! What equipment and routines? Or maybe save that for TOTM ;)

george,
just goes to show that its paid off, worth all the effort and you should be proud to own a successfull system like that, its better when several minds get together and pool their knowledge,
cam, george, rupert, pete, johnathon and richard,
it always turns out better this way and very rewarding.
well done
regards
rupert.
i wish i could think of a word or line to say anything better then wow, stunning.:)
I have to say the tank is stunning, I have seen it in the flesh with a group of other guys, and we were all glued to it for hours. Also as in a lot of photos, the pics dont do it justice, its even better in the flesh.
Keep up the good work George and glad your a member of southern marine club.

Looks stunning, dont know what else to say lost for words
Great set-up(s)!!! Someone has got the BUG BADLY!! ;)
You must have been VERY confident with the pipework on the wall to set-it up like that, never seen it done like that before. Excellent work, keep the pics coming.
Out of interest, what made you have the two smaller tanks on either side? Are they species specific etc?
one of my all time fave tanks
just having another browse through
