View Full Version : Fragging Sinularia
Last Wednesday I removed a branch from my sinularia and have been trying to get it to attach to a piece of live rock ever since. I have tried the toothpick, rubber band and superglue methods to no avail, I am now back onto the toothpick method but this evening I have noticed the coral has started to change colour at the base. It appears to be turning white, is this a bad sign?
Thanks
David
It doesnt sound good. Sinularias can be very difficult to attach. I find the best way is to trap the base with a piece of rock. Make sure the rock is not putting too much pressure on the coral otherwise it will crush it but there should be enough pressure to keep the coral from drifting away.
fresh frags do well with good flow. i use a couple of thin cable ties, not too tight though.
The frag is looking a bit better today so hopefully it will pull through. I think the toothpick method works best in this instance.

i use cable ties when i do mine, a small lump of rock, cable tie a reasonable size cutting to it and after about 2 weeks it will have attached
