I know it's not a coral but thought this the best place to ask.

I recently purchased a small one from my LFS, I have to say it looked a bit fuzzy around the edges, but presumed this was normal. After a couple of days in my tank there appears to be some new growth - i.e. bright orange bits at the tips. Is this right?

Has anyone else kept these successfully, I understand they are quite difficult.

yes, I have to say that it looked a bit ropey when I got it, but now it seems to be improving daily, they still have one left...

It's at the bottom of the tank, under a overhang which is covered in mushrooms. I only have T8 lighting with reflectors, so not that bright.

I seem to do quite well with T8 lighting in terms of leathers and mushrooms, I only have powerglo and a sunglo tubes but they seem to like it.

I will try to get a photo, but I'm not that technically gifted.
