Hi, is the ultra low nutrient system maily used by SPS keepers?
Also, are they expensive to run? I was pondering on the thought of one a while ago. Will it make the tank more stable?
thanks.:thumbsup:
ZEOvit is focused on maximising SPS coloration 0 but you can keep a wide range of non stony corals in the water it produces;
Fauna MArin is a middle ground range that has a wider rage of foods for non SPS, and will also allow for non stoney corals to be well kept;
Prodibio is the easiest of the three (not that the other 2 are hard)
All three can help of you have excess nutrients as indicated by unwanted algae growth after one has the basics of filtration and w/c in order. All three can also be used on non sps systems, although Prodi may be most helpful for softees if one has a nutrient problem.
Expense wise - it depends on the size of the tank and ones disposable income. I dont know anyone who can afford a reef but cant afford Prodibio.
Stability - no the bacterial elements dont really increase stability, persay - just improve water quality by allowing for stable low nutrient waters to be maintained. The availability of minor elements is improved through some products, and CA/DKH/Mg/PH need to be maintained using the various options we have.

Once nutrients are limited, attention has to be paid to tweaking feeding to ensure the animals get what they need.
