Simon,

After you message i have started the thread so as i and others who may want to do this system can get a good starting reference, i am looking to start this in my 250 gallon system, what do i need?

From here on in it will be helpful to think in metric:thumbsup:
250gx4.45 - 1135 ltrs. Assume thats net. You will therefor need:

3 ltrs of zeolites changed every 6 weeks with a flow through the reactor of 1200ltr/ph.

12 drops of ZEObac every other day;
12 drops of ZEOfood7 every other day;
6-12 mls of ZEOstart2 every day split dosing.

This is the basic set up for nutrient control.

You will also need:

1 ltrs of ZEOcarbon in a mesh bag passively in the sump, changed out monthly;
6-12 drops AAHC daily when you reach the lightening stage
12 drops Phols Coral Vitaliser dails as above.

Please switch off any UV or ozone.

Maybe start a thread and we can continue on that.

do i keep the uv and ozone off all the time as i have both and what would the reason be?

I use the uv as i have four tangs, please no tang police :laugh:

Hi John

the reason why both UV and ozone are not used on these systems is that both will kill the bacteria that passes though them. The bacteria is the foundation of this system.

If you are using both to prevent rather than cure disease, its best to wait until the cure is effected.

Please do have a good read of the zeoguide 1.02 and do ask any questions that arrise out of that.

I can't emphasise enough the importance of undertsanding what we are doing with these systems. Please do read and digest, and by all means ask for clarification, but Googling for the guide is the easiest bit.

If you decide to go for it after reading and re reading the guide- then pls follow the course, no variations, or short cuts. This isn't rocket science but it does need understanding, application, thoroughness and patience.
