Yep I know after asking why do people bother with them, I`ve brought fuzed`s unused one:o :whistling: , Now i need help for the following

a) I want to run a triple dosoing unit
b)control my halide
c)Would like to run a ph probe, but how I`m going to do this I dont know as there`s zero visable equipment and no sump, just closed loops, I thought rs components done somthing for vdl plumbing may be wrong though

any help please

:thanks:

Congrats on joining the club :)

First thing I would say is if you want to run the dosing pumps you need the latest firmware so I would see if you can get someone to update that for you :)

With the PH probe can you not hide it in a wier or something?

a) Aquatronica dosing pump is the only one that will work with it - you'll need to ensure you have the latest version of firmware on the controller.
b) Do you have a plugbar? These will control your halide directly (although if you're completely paranoid like me, you can use a contactor too)
c) You'll need a pH probe and interface - as to where you put it, that's the tricky bit! Do you run an external filter? Maybe you could modify the lid to take a gland, much like the modified lid on the Korallin calcium reactors.

No wier, only invisable closed loops

...what are you going to use the doser for? and how are you going to fit this into a closed loop?!

Liquid calcium etc

and was wondering if i could use a cable gland on a t-peice of one of my closed loops

You also need the ph interface but the rest of the list looks ok :)

You certainly won't be able to dose into a closed loop - peri-pumps aren't designed to handle any back pressure. You'll need to dose into the tank directly (as you don't have a sump).

However, I quite like the idea of a T piece on the closed loop with the pH probe fitted into it. It might be a case of try it and see, but I can't see why it shouldn't work.

T peice idea was I`m sure something i see on r s components

dosing pump idea will com over the top of the light ;)

just need to know what size cable gland

After a major leakage at the weekend I wouldn't risk a closed loop leaking by putting any extra holes in it!

Can you make a small semi closed false weir with acrylic on one corner of the tank to put probes, pipes etc in?

as above - putting a T in a loop for a push in probe is asking for trouble - just have the probe go up and over, only needs to dip a couple of inches into the tank (u wont see it)

ph probe

the soft ware is included in the pc interface
you need a probe interface

have you only got the unit? ie- no plug bar already? in which case do you need temp/level monitors? might as well if you havent got them already.

you dont NEED anything else - if you are only dosing liquid calc do you need the tripple doser? A single peri pump is a lot cheaper and will dose just as well.
