at long last the house has sold:yahoo: so the new tank is ready to go...........almost,i am in the lucky position to have a room dedicated to my tank so i have all the junk confined lol.my tank is an 8x2x2 custom buid by wharf aquatics at pinxton,it was set up as tropical with the view to go marine.here it is as tropical

was thinking of that but too much hassle and money and not enough time now lol
i know what you mean its a lot easier to do on a tank that isnt set up
plus there are a lot simpler of ways of getting flow without closed loops:D

:mad: had a disater today,i came home to find my bta in bits i think it detached itself and got sucked under my tunze rock.i cant find all the nem took all the rock out to try and find it but no joy:( i am expecting the worse in the morning,will keep you updated

hi all amazingly there seems to be no ill affects:cool: a 10% water change has been carried out and some new liverock donated by deadfish (thanks ant)has been added,i may keep the tank now,was close to shutting down because of my own arrogance and stupidity a fragile and delicate life has been lost and only due to some higher power more life hasnt been lost.i feel i have taught a lesson and have learnt from it( i know some will say this is still too late)but all is good in the tank thanks for your concerns:thanks: watch this space

Hehe! the women always stop us! :( Just as a heads up, (you may already know though) i think the tomini's are regarded as being a bit on the nasty side with other tangs mate. Although that sailfin will dwarf it im sure :) i love them fish so much! What stage were the tomini's at in wharf? juvi's? or adult? Mines changing everyday, can't get the bugger to eat much nori though! :annoyed:

yeah had him a long time with no bother.....until the move saw him pecking the sun coral once,so did mr brady which he had great joy in uttering the words that f****n corals a gonner...........ill take it off yer ands:rolleyes: lol,may have to eat my follow up retort and let him have it if the bi colour trys again (not seen it attack it since).and the move is on thurs fri and sat,so a week sunday seems to be a good time for visits:laugh:

:) Hi all, Had the pleasure of going down to mikk's new house today to see his tank, and have to say that it's a credit to mikk just how well it's looking! He's added some more rock and things really are taking shape:worship: All his fish are doing well, especially a certain gobie! wouldn't have minded taking him home with me! Sorry but my camera's knacked so no pic's but I'm sure it won't be long before mikk's posting again.

been a while so id thought id post a few recent pics.unfortunately a while back i upgraded my r/o unit to a 150 gpd and replaced all the prefilters,di and flow restrictor....but in my haste i neglected the ,make sure all the gaskets were in plce and i had left one out of the main membrane chamber so all my water changes and top ups for 2 weeks :eek: were tap water:( my tank had a nasty yellow tinge for a few weeks)i have now rectified the problem and all seems to be picking up,after two tubs of reef crystals in water changes,so i now feel confident enough to show it again.let me know what you think as i am always eagerb to improve the look regards mikk

Tank looks first class is that a goni in the background :thumbsup:thanks,tbh i have no idea what the hard corals are,i bought 40-45kgs of live rock from keith in liecester (for 75quid:dance: )and it all came with the hard corals on it.they all seem to be thriving under my 150w:).the best thing for me is the male clarkii hosting in my condy nem woo hoo lol
