After much fiddling about I think we are finally happy with our original nano.
The LR has been in and out 4 times, we have caught and removed the fish that turned our hi-fin goby into a lo-fin goby and today we added these:dance:

Helfrich Firefish

Here's the full tank

It's a 24gallon D+D Nanocube with stock lighting but we have upgrade the pumps and added a Hydor rotating thingy.

Hope you like them as much as we do:)

Nice nano - out of interest where did you get the Helfrich's? And perhaps as pertinent, how much did you pay for a pair? :whistling:

Stunning fish!!

Thanks for the comments.
We are really happy with this one now.
The Helfrichs came from Acropora House and were £120 for the pair.:applause:
So even with a round trip to Warrington they were still a bargain.
I'm hoping they're going to get jiggy at some stage.

Cheers

Man thats a good price, looks stunning, what flow do you have? Just the MJ1200 with the hydor?

Beautiful reef; beautiful firefish too!! I'm intrigued though....what does the "hydor thingy" do;) (apart from rotate that is!)

Thanks guys

I'm glad you like it, it's taken 6 months to get it to a stage where I'm happy to stop fiddling with the rock and the positioning of corals

John, The hydor thingy just rotates and breaks up the currents in the tank.

There is another MJ1200 in C1 to give sufficient flow for the sps

Yeah the Helfrich price was fantastic.....well pleased.

Nice new corals - however, being fairly critical, it's starting to look a little crowded in there to me. Are you leaving enough room for the corals to grow?

Hi John

Totally agree as of now it's full

However I'm expecting the sps in this tank to grow quite slowly, there is also room at the back of the tank to add another row of LR to provide expansion space.

Also they are all easily fragged.

Plus I'm under orders from SWMBO not to buy any more :)

Hi

Am I correct in saying that lighting wise this is a bog standard 24G D&D? And that you are successfully keeping SPS corals in there?

In which case...wow.

I am going to reassess my own little cube of water immediately :)
