Quick question for anyone who has actually got one of the Aquatronica dosing pumps - how have you mounted it??? Does it come with anything to attach it to something else?

No it has nothing in the way of mountings. It is quite deep so would best sit under or on top of the edge of a shelf.

Mine doesn't work at the moment :( Waiting on Wavey.

I've cable tied mine so it hangs under a shelf, it's only a shelf in the garage so I drilled four holes through it and pushed the cable ties through the shelf and around the dosing pump.

Probably not the neatest of jobs but it works.

Been there - mine was DOA but Ian sorted it out quickly enough.

I just built a little shelf that hangs underneath the stand to hold the dosing pump. Apologies for the crap photo but you can probably just make it out. To answer your other thread I have now swapped onto the Balling light method, too early at the moment to give any feedback as I am still trying to get my calcium up to a sensible level.

Here's your pic, Steve (just for the lazy folks!) Thanks for that.

Looks like the sort of thing I will have to knock up too I reckon. There'll be a big gap at one end of the stand where my calcium reactor and CO2 bottle currently are - the pumps and bottles can go there.

Can I ask what bottles you have used?

I'm going to go the balling light method and due to the size of my tank was going to get some 10 gallon tanks made up.

Craig,

In the photo I am using standard 5 ltr water bottles from any supermarket, which is a pain as when you have added the salts to the recommended 5 Ltrs of water you need a larger bottle. But I have today just picked up some 10Ltr water cans from the camping section of Halfords, only £4.99 which should do the job just fine.

Just found this due to the power of Google.

Steve, you should be mixing the chemicals to 5 litres rather than 5 litres plus chemicals. Add about 4.5 litres, add chemicals, and then topup to 5 litres.

That way your proportions are correct, so for example if you put in enough for 500g of Calcium then you'll have 500g/5L which is a nice easy figure rather than 500g/5.123L (or whatever it is) which isn't so easy.

Also it means that your 5 litre bottles work ok.

Mine sits on two 90deg angle brackets from Wickes, on the side of cabinet.
