Yep, I have installed my reactor today. Took an age but the modifications have worked and I am now not chucking water all over the place and the electrics!

Now I have added the drops for my tank size of the FM Ultra-Bio, but when do I start adding the Ultra-Min and Ultra-Bak?

This does not seem to be very clear on the Fauna-Marin website.

Many thanks,

Chris

Hi,

you can start adding straight away, just start on a very small dose and work up!

Darren,

Thanks for that. I have added the Ultra-Bio as per the FM website and will now add the other two as per the instructions, maybe just short of the prescribed dose whilst I keep an eye on things.

Speaking to claude, you can add the bio daily or in a weekly dose whatevers easier, let us know how you are getting on???

(PS I've got a bottle of organic sat next to the computer tonight in case you wanted a bottle so I could send off for the first post how sad is that!!!!:o   just better remember not to confuse it with my beer!!!!!)

Darren,

Can you possibly keep one aside for the end of the month unles you are getting some more in before, I have spent rather a lot this month and I may not need the Organic straight away.

Is there a step-by-step guide as to when certain things may ned to be added such as the Organic etc? I have found the FM site a little disjointed.

Thanks,

Chris

PS, Does the FM Organic taste like vitamin supplements then, confusing it with the beer? lol

Does Organic replace the need to dose Iodine? I have just purchased a fresh bottle of TM Iodine and wondered if I have wasted my time?

There is no step by step guide as such, as it is fairly adaptable to individual tanks,
The FM site is a pretty much German to English translation which is probably why it appears a bit disjointed, however an Email to Claude always gets a pretty informed explantion (his english is good, and a lot better than my German!!!!) from experience we have found that you will need to tweak the dosages to suit your tank, maybe a little more bak than mins or vice versa, (although we have found the former is generally whats is more likely at the beggining). Too much bak will show as whitish film, too much min and you'll notice cleaning the glass more often.
We noticed the need to supplement the organic after about 4-5 weeks, we think the organic is excellent, LPS respond really well to its addition. I'll hold a bottle back for you (unless it gets drunk!!)

re the iodine,

with bak, min-s and organic you shouldn't need to dose iodine

Is the Ultra Bio just to kick start the reactor and give the live rock a boost, by this I mean once the bottle is consumed, will I need to use any more?

Are there any other feeding regime differences that ned to be made or can/should I continue to feed my livestock in the normal way with cyclopeeze, marine mix, coral food(Salifert) etc?

Other than that, I will keep you posted as to progress and whether I need to increase the dosage of Min-S and Bak.
