View Full Version : Sudden Cyno
I have a sudden cyno outbreak on my sand.
It's no real issue as Im sure it will go in a few days but I wanted to know if this could be a sign of stuff comming back out of the sand bed?
I know have a huge skimmer and have been adding vodka for a few months now.
Both my Phos and No3 readings are at the lowest ever points. Phos is <0.003 and No3 is 2ppm.

Yes Scoob......
His bit of the garden is spotless. Also where the Chuc's patrol is fine, its just a patch in the middle where it's started.
Sure it will go in a few days :annoyed:

my experience of cyano has been longer than a few days, it's usually been at least a month each time. I've found it's the kinda of stuff that when it's time is right thrives in even relatively low nutrient water - it creates its own food source from the light.
If you follow the usual rules of good flow & good water it has always burned itself out naturally for me.

i would say its your sandbed releasing nutrients, SPShoover got some cyno in the frag system during the inital phase. I got a bit in the first week but it soon disappeared
