What am I doing wrong? All I want to do is control a top up pump when level drops below float but I am getting beeping.

What are the settings you are all using?

Hi Chris

I found it was fiddly to get right

I wonder if its the activation setting for the Power Output - ie plug for the top up pump or the Max Time setting

Mine tronica reads

"LIV1
Max Time 15s

PUO1 output is highlighted with a symbol L above it"

The output activation stare is adjusted with the up/down arrows

activate - (the output is highlighted with the symbol above) = pump on when level drops

deactivate - (only with symbol above it)

The alarm sounds if the level is not reached within the set time - the time is a saftey feaure to switch off the pump if the float switch lams open i think.

If the "Max time" is set too short then i think it will alarm.

Yes - as Brian says - if max time is too short the pump won't have enough time to change the level state of the sensor and the alarm will go off. The max time you need will depend on how powerful your pump is and the amount of water it has to pump to change the sensor level.

Ive got a tiny newjet pump.

The best interval for me I've found is 30 seconds.

Anthing less and the float switch hasn't moved enough to prevent a programme time-out.

The interval you want to use for the Max Time should be the most it could ever be. For example my RO normaly runs for 10 - 20 second burst. The longest I have seen it run under normal circumstances is 80 seconds, I set the lockout for 120 Seconds. I also did a check and 120 Seconds will not put enough water in to change my salinity, so its a safe value and high enough to prevent unwanted lockouts.
