defo seeing a drop in my No3 now, its been at 100-120 for what seems like forever. ive been dosing Bak and Min-s for a few weeks, i added Lithe in a basket a few days ago and did a water change yesterday its now between 60-80..

i also removed 45kg of rock from the tank and sump to allow much more flow, still got best part of 200kg though...

sold the rock so will probley put the money into getting a Grotec reactor..

Nice one, guess you will be making that trip back to Reef-Encounters shortly then!

I am dosing a 100 UK gallon system with absolute min dose of products. my tank is quite heavily stocked with fish, should I increase the dose of the Bak do you think?

to be honest im no expert but im dosing 3ml each of Bak/Min-s for 14,00ltrs.. think you have to build it up as to not crash the corals
are you using the Lithe?..

i guess the reason my No3 is finaly begining to drop is a mixture of the addatives/Lithe and removing some rock creating more flow, also been doing a 50g water change once a week..

Started the Lith staright away and atrted dosing min/bak/bio at same time with 8 drops of bio, 0.8ml bak, 1.2ml as i only have a 100 UK gallon ish system. It will be a week on Tuesday since I started everything off. Did water change yesterday (10-15%) and think the nitrates have fallen slightly but barely noticeable as I have a DSB in my sump and a lot of live rock so it might take a while for all the nutrients to start leaching out of my system.

I laughed when I saw you do 50g water change a week, thats just about half my system volume! Doing 10-12 gallon water change fortnightly seems a task in itself so god knows what doing 50g weekly is like? You have it automated?

i dont normaly do a 50g water change every week, im just doing it to help reduce the no3. then ill probley do it monthly...
