if you are using a low nutrient absorber like ultralith and adding a carbon source for the bacteria to feed on, will using activated carbon have any detrimental effect?

a small amount of carbon used passively can be beneficial to your tank even with the ultralith system to remove the yellowing compounds from the water. The zeovit system advocates continual passive use and FM also say that active carbon is compatible with their system. use a small amount and replace regularly
