View Full Version : Aquatronica upgrade, Router problem still??

I have done an upgrade which I believe worked successfully, good to see they addressed some fundamentals which probably should have been in the first release version. Anyway, as before I am still unable to access the ethernet module from the outside world.
What I know is that I can access internally and I do have other web baed devices (such as cctv) which do work. I have opened port 22, as I saw suggested elsewhere, but no joy. I have set and opened the port to 83, having previously tried the default , in case there was a conflict, I assume there are no other ports I should open?
I am using a mainstream Netgear router and am at a loss to identify what is wrong - unless it STILL does not support a wide range of routers.
Please help.

Read the closed thread a few pages back, there is still an issue that hasn't been resolved with the Ethernet.

The only posts I see is the issue of the NEW update losing connection to the ethernet module, thanfully that is not my problem. To reitterate this is the new update I am using which was supposed to resolve the issue of some routers not allowing access from the outside world. I may have missed the post you refer to.
Incidentally the email function does work.

Most likely if your email works that means you are having a port problem on the web page side. Now that you can set the port maybe you should try port 25 for a quick test and see if you can access it. That would confirm that your other ports are blocked. Rem to change it from 25 afterwards.

Thanks for that - I found the problem was that the EM which I set as port 83 (having two other devices taking up port 81 & 82) would not work because of the port order. Only the port at the top of the firewall list works. I obviously have to learn more about configuring the ports on the router...

Still doesn't work for me. I removed all my other NAT entries, and just added one - Port 80 on the router to Port 80 on the Ethernet Module. Still nothing :(

Ian have ever tried a different router? I know it sucks and you should not have to change your router to accommodate the Aquatronica but it seems like your pushing a 10 ton elephant up a hill when maybe it would be better to bring the bucket of water to him.

I haven't yet - but with the previous version of software I borrowed a different make of router from a guy I worked with, and had exactly the same problem!
I've been toying with the idea of getting a Draytek router (never read a bad review of these) - maybe you're right and I have to just bite the bullet :(

No problems for me the aquatronica behaves perfectly, unfortunately not so for my router. The tests I have done prove that the recent EM upgrade resolves the incompatibility issues.
