My ALK is running a bit high at 9.1 dKH - which is a bit higher than recommended for the zeovit system. So the calc reactor will be off for a couple of days and a few SW changes with RBS will I hope sort it. Nitrate and phos unmeasurable. Cal 430 and Mg 1260, so otherwise pretty good. Zeoliths have been on the system for 8 days now. Skimmer is pulling out some lovely looking juice!

Question...why does the Zeo system recommend a relatively low Alk? What happens if it runs high - general stress to acros and STN - or problems with colouration etc?

Hi Stevie

They report that higher than 8 is linked with STN. Not sure why this would be the case with ZEOvit and not with ordinary tanks.

I'v run mine in the high 5's for quite a time with on problems.

Cheers
