Neither Ian or Aquatronica themselves are answering my mails, so I'm hoping some kind person on here will email both updates?
PM me for my addy
Cheers Shelton.
Ian may well be away, i.e. staying away from home.
Someone else said they couldn't download tonight, perhaps the site is down for some reason. may be try tomorrow?
All worked ok last week, but sorry i wouldn't have a clue how to email the update over to you.
If your email account can handle 12mb of mail I can break it into 3 zip files and email it to you.
PM me your email.
BTW I will be at work for another Hour (7pm EST) so do it quickly.
Anybody else want it PM me your account ASAP. It's just as easy to mail 5 people as one :)

There seems to be a constant problem with these products and getting anyone to help you is a nightmare. Everyone i know is selling theirs and looking at other options. All the good shops in my area and beyond are not recommending them.
Here we go again.
For fear of being accused of something untrue again like on a previous thread.
I PURCHASED an Aquatronica system over 18 months ago at full price from a then sponsor Danny @ watford.
Aside from a PH probe problem I have never had a problem with the main unit ( this issue was rectified at warp factor 9 under warranty).
Every bit of my equipment goes through all the plug bars, I do every update without issue.
I don't however have the Ethernet function set up.

Would have to disagree to a degree. Even though I have had two problems in the first few weeks I have never had any trouble getting hold of someone and the problem does get dealt with.
I do not see loads for sale either so disagree there.
Chris
and getting anyone to help you is a nightmare.
This is a guy who gets stacks or Pms and emails a day, who people think should be at there beck and call 24/7.
He has a business to run.
And lets not forget how many peoples houses he has been too to have a look at a problem only to arrive and find it nimrod error.
Yet he doesn't charge them for his time or associated costs.
The Mrs said the Dyson didn't pick up a spec of dust yesterday I must ring James up and get him round:mad::mad::mad::mad:
Hi SHultz,
Strange one, hows it going now? One other person in the US has had the same problem, so we will call Italy for you to see if there is a reason.
I take the system is runing OK apart form the update?
As for getting help a nightmare......
We are the only wholesaler that has 7 day a week mobile contact, 7 day a week e-mail response, tronica have a dedicated forum on there own site, on reef central and soon to be on here. They have a phone line you can call and e-mail. SOMETIMES it will take two or three days, better than 3 months that I see it takes others...
As for shops not recommendeing them:cool: Last month we took on more new dealers and sold more than ever before.....

Ian,
With the greatest respect no you are not the only wholesaler that offers these services.
It is always best to have correct info for all to see.
before i get jumped on I have only stated this as it is only fair people are not misslead
Best wishes
Michael
Michael I thought you didn't hold stock in the Uk and shops quote a minimum of 14 days delivery from Germany, so how quickly will warranty issues be dealt with.

I am afraid you are miss informed. it is up to the respective suppliers to decide how they wish to supply the product and at what time scale.
Any warranty issues are dealt with within 24 hours, if an item was out of stock in the UK to cover that warranty issue the replacement would be sent directly from Germany to the customer on a 24 hour priority.
Technical support is offered on an array of forums in the UK, USA, Canada, and Europe. There is a dedicated support website in construction right now and technical support is offered 7 days a week by phone and email just like many other manufacturers.
Also GHL directly offer this exact same service, so if you ever need to speak to the maunfacturer directly you can at any time, just like I am sure any other company.
I hope this answers your concerns or questions. But if you can think of any others please feel free to contact me directly or via pm
Best wishes
Michael

Now that is the biggest load of bull I've heard in a long while.
You will not find anyone any more helpful and willing to assist.

Hi Ian,
I have to state for the record that I have had 2 problem plugbars, in both cases you sorted the problems out very quickly, so have no problem with you, I know you are busy so my first statement including you was a little harsh, but it does stand towards Aquatronica themselves because I still haven't had a reply! It seems they can take an age to answer questions & queries which doesn't look good from my point of view!
Having had an IKS I know what a true nightmare is & wouldn't hesitate to reccomend this system to others......
Now as for my probs, I have tried opening port80 on the router, still no update....
I then realised my firewall (Zonealarm) was also blokcing it so enabled it in that too, still no update.....
I then closed the firewall completely & tried again, still no update.....
I have also checked the built in windows firewall & thats disabled as it should be because I'm using the Zonealarm program....
I'm wondering if I need to totally install & re-install the PC software as updates in the past have been done via a standard adsl modem (not available to use now) so maybe its still looking for that????
Cheers Shelton.
i wasa against updates on my system due to people saying they had problems but i have since done this after talks with jobr and must say it went very smothly so perhaps my best bet was not to listen to others but to try it myself.
Your issues may not be anything to do with the Aquatronica but it could be your computer settings, are you in the position to try this with another computer at all. :)
arrows glad the update worked for you, lots of new bits for you to mess around with now.
Right have solved the problem!
It seems that if you change what you use/how you connect to the INternet you may (I did) have to reinstall the Aquatronica software so it then looks to see how you connect, rather than trying to use the same way as it did for the last time you upgraded.
As a side issue to this it may be the case that Aquatronica have removed the PC software upgrade from their server? I have been sent this file by another user, installed just fine & as soon as it fired up I got the message about new firmware & happy to say that has now downloaded & installed just fine :)
Cheers Shelton.

Yes, thanks very much for your help :worship::applause::dance::thanks:

Thanks guys!
In reply to Michael, my facts are correct, Aquatronica SPONSOR Reef Central(not through any distributor, they sponsor direct) There own website is allready UP AND RUNNING, ITC are about to sponsor UR, inconjunction with Aquatronica.
The three month IS NOT YOUR COMPANY I WAS REFERING TO.
So fact is, we are the only company that offer the above. This is an Aquatronica thread, not a GHL.

Ian
that is what i was referring to not who where and what you sponsor, you quoted you are the only wholesaler with 7 days mobile support etc, that is not true and missleading thats all.
best wishes
Michael
Is the GHL 7 day mobile support advertised anywhere, does it cover the whole of the Uk, I haven't seen it in any shops / magazines etc.

Erm thats because it only was launched 2 weeks ago!!! All retailers and GHL owners are aware of the support and on the dedicated support forum this is in evidence.
I am finding this all more and more laughable. A new unit comes into the country and immediatly the people with the opposing unit gang up on it as soon as it mentioned anywhere, why the worry??
Cmon if you have a good product theres nothing to fear, this will not be the last product to enter the UK to give fair competition and chioce to the consumer, and I for one have no fears of any other unit what so ever so why should you? the old saying goes let the best man win, the people will decide.
I really am not into im better than you games, all I am interested in is giving good support for a good product no sales tactics no self promotion just fair info and support. if you want to take more from this then that, i would wander what you are trying to protect and what reasons you have behind your thoughts.
I will support GHL as much as ian supports AQ, i just believe in getting facts right so the public are not miss informed, the selling i leave to my retailers
Thanks where is the support forum or is it owner only, PM if not allowed public view.
You know that's another reason why I like Aquatronica, they don't Gab a whole lot about their controller, they just keep producing new hardware and software without the Lip Service, another great thing about the company is that they are huge in comparison to all the other 3 man operations.
This is the size of their staff
http://www.aquatronica.com/company-1/staff
Any company that invests that much in employee's just to make an Aquarium controller, means they are in it for success.
OK,
Sorry Michael, your post inferred that ALL of our support was the same as someone elses, not just the 7 day support, I fully agree that GHL offer this. As a whole, ALL the details I posted, are not (currently) offered by others.

The support forum is on the forum the ian promotes on his signature

A one line reply then you feel the need to edit the post and add another 16 odd lines, I find that strange.
Don't see anyone ganging up on anything, do you have a problem with me asking questions?
I am just trying to understand the product that is new as I heard it was basically an IKS underneath.
One reason i chose and paid for a Tronica was the functionality and development as opposed to the IKS which doesn't seem to get much devolpment, also the increased functionality of the unit, i.e. the Tronica can overide the halide timer if the temp gets to hot and turn the lights off, my understanding was the IKS couldn't perform that function.
:p yawn.............................................

No offence Michael (I go to Heritage, STM) regularly thanks and am quite capable of reading about a product on the web.
I am finding this all more and more laughable. A new unit comes into the country and immediatly the people with the opposing unit gang up on it as soon as it mentioned anywhere, why the worry??
Yet somewhere else you refer to other products as
"This unit is NOT like anything else on the market do not try and judge it against something else, the functionality of this makes any other unit on the market look like a morris minor to say the least!"
So pot kettle springs to mind, perhaps before making these comments you should give a little more thought in to practicing what you preach.

MANY not any if it says any that is a typo and I will go fix it.
the reference is to things like base controllers.
Look M8 give it a rest I cant be bothered to keep having to defend all i write to you, you seem to follow my posts around like bee round honey. I have zero to prove to you. You clearly are on some sort of personal mission.
And before this turns into another public "lets get Michael" campaign
I only posted recently to the Mods that i was going to remove my presence from UR due to the persistant hostility, and only came back to help support the growing retailers that are spnsors on here with the product, just like Ian does. But as this level of hostility is clearly going to carry on, i am going to pass the support over to someone else. i think it is best.
ENOUGH!
Enough, lol.
Follow you around. LMFAO.
I have an aquatronica, very happy with it thanks, if someone has a problem I try and help.
Every Tronica thread you have to comment on, its nothing to do with you, you just like to stir shyte and don't like it when someone stands up to you.
Someone would call your behaviour that akin to a school ground bully.
You constantly comment on Tronica threads, in a vain attempt to promote your IKS copy.
As you can see, you follow me around, do everyone a favour and jog on.
About time you wern't allowed on here "again".
Please go away and attempt to promote your product elsewhere and stop commenting on tronica the whole time, you don't own one.
Sorry I fail to see how a thread titled " Aquatronica Updates." has anything to do with GHL.
Its like STM going into a Heritage thread and saying they can do things better.
I just dont get it.
And I'm not shouting just for some reason the damn bold wont switch off.
Craig,
Its good at times to have a little shout, clears the head  .
Overall I would say that Profilux is rubbing a whole bunch of people the wrong way, They started up a real Nasty post on Canreef trying to attack Aquatronica claiming reliability problems then 1 month later they had to do a "Recall" of their "Non-Digital Powerbars" and swap them out for Digital versions. Of course unlike Aquatronica who would have replaced every powerbar that had a problem. Profilux only replaced one Powerbar per customer, so people who had 2 or 3 bars got stuck with "Only defective on Mh Powerbars"
Of course most Canreef and RC Aquatronica users found the Irony of this hilarious. I don't know who owns Profilux but you guys need a serious PR cleanup. When you have the kind of hardware, software and SUPPORT that Aquatronica sports then you can open your mouths and spout off, in the mean time it's just a whole bunch of hot air.

Enough already.
Lets just step back, take a deep breath. and
LEAVE IT
And yes that is shouting.

proline are the distibutors for North America
I do not support the actions you state that was made on canreef although i have read that forum a billion times and never seen any hostility other than a AQ user coming on and ranting off, and some GHL users biting back, that happens here all the time of late, well bite at me anyway.
With regards to the plug bars, you are indeed right, but everyone got new plug bars in total, not just one, as they were in short supply as the issue happened over christmas they got out 1 to everybody just to cover it then sorted it out further after christmas. the issues were related to 110V not being able to withstand the load. As the 220V plug bars (same as UK) have been around for 5 years without issue there naturally is no issue in the UK.
I can not comment on another forums ways but I am sure they would be just as shocked if they came on here and read this constant debarkle.
:applause: one thing i will say is the more there are new units the more chance the future of progress for my Aquatronica will contine, i would recommened the Aquatronica over all the rest, it is without doubt the best packaged product on the market in this sector.
my choices are gone.
