now i quite like the idea of using the lns but am unsure of how it works.

i have read the sticky but still not quite sure.

i will be purchasing goos in abut 2 weeks time so justwant to check with you guys first before i waste any money.

i have cyano on my sand bed at the moment and also a few fish probs.

i am thinking of going down the ultralith route with bak, min s, and ultra bio.

the only place i have to put the net will be in the juwe filter which is quite empty apart from some live rock and a mj1200 pushing the water out of the filter box.

what i have read is that the bag wil need a high flow. will the mj1200 be enough even though it is blowing the water out of the filter box. suppose there's not much flow in the actual box at all.

any idea's would be apreciated.

if i am way off the mark please be gentle with me.

Can you clarify what "a few fish probs" means?

bulgy cloudy eye's and one or two have a dusty covering on them. not sure if its white spot or not but this has taken the fish over quite quickly.

i am trying to catch them but they obviously dont feel well and are being very reclusive.

To be perfectly honest with you, I'd address this issue before taking on anything extra maintenance - and adopting one of the ULNS is extra work.

Without seeing the fish it's difficult to make a diagnosis, but a dusty coating sounds more like Amyloodinium (Marine Velvet) than Cryptocaryon (Marine Whitespot). As far as I am aware, the only efffective treatment is removal of all fish to a hospital tank and the application of copper.

Hi
As Ian says sort out your tank issues first a few more details and readings here will get you plenty of help to sort it suggest you post your probs in the main reefs forum as you will get a lot more replies there.
