View Full Version : Running 2 control units

My new system will have a remote sump. It seems sensible to have two separate Aquatronica setups, each controlling equipment in their own area, and each measuring parameters so that I can ensure that they match. This gives some extra system security by redundancy and emergency spares in case of problems.

Is anyone running a system like this. Can they each have an Ethernet module running on the same network so that I can network access either unit?

Hi Tony,

I can't see why there should be a problem with each Controller having an Ethernet Module - you are able to give each EM it's own IP address (or it'll use a DHCP server if you have one).

Watching with interest now! :D

A firend of mine runs a similar system, but without the ethernet.

Basically one system runs the tank, the other monitors and logs.

As Ian says, different IP address means both systems can have their own ethernet
