Ok guys and gals heres my lil box of sea, its been up for around about 15 months now, the only things that are still in there from set up are the big powerhead (will prolly be changed this week as it is really noisy and theres a bit to much flow atm! oh and i also have one the same as the smaller p/h laying around! :) )
the rock and sand, the heater was out for a bit and came back lol
Lesson learnt, get the right equipment first!
Anywho equipment atm:
Geismann 150W halide with actinics running an arcadia 14K bulb
Red Sea Prizm skimmer
Eheime 2026 running with live rock rubble, carbon, poly filter and as of next week rowaphos
Interpet PHD4 at 900lph
Aquaclear 30 at 600lph
Hagen 100W heater
Azoo cooling fans
and the tank is a fluval duo deep 600
The current live stock consists of:
1 percula clown
1 Royal Gramma
2 Cleaner shrimp
5 RL hermits
2 Blue n black leg hermits
3 Astrea snails
1 (large) tube worm
1 devils finger
some large polyps
some neon green polyps
some yellow polyps
some small brown polyps
some red mushrooms
some xenia
other lil inverts scattered about
and loads of hair algae (rowaphos will hopefully sot that out!)

Looks nice. Are you getting any heat problems with the halide being enclosed like that or are the fans doing a good job?

Thanks Paws! I'm really pleased with how it is atm!

I was worried about that, it did get a lil hot at first with no fans and a 10K bulb, that was winter though, now its a 14K and there is fans its fine... at least for the moment :)
It was upto 28 degrees in my room yesterday, tank was steady at 28 too! :)

Manta, the scape is an island so I can clean the sides easier, lazyness really :) The ispiration came from jemrams tank though, for a long time the backs were algaed up, I much prefer it now :)

The New flow in the tank seems to be really upsetting my xenia, it's getting battered. Will be putting the powerheads on alternating timers to reproduce the tidal currents... ish... it should reduce the flow giving the xenia, and the shrooms a nicer place to be.
Rowaphos should be here either tomorrow or thursday, we'll see how it goes.
Decided to put my skimmer on a timer a while ago too, cuts down on bed side noise, really need to figure out how I'm going to sort out all of these timres there are now 6!

Surfaus, you should have seen it before I spent 2 hours with a bucket some old tank water and a tooth brush! That was a couple of weeks ago, it is still growing but I just recieved some rowaphos from coral culture today (great service there btw :) ) Hopfully this should clear some stuff up :)

Hey James, hows the work experience going? we're doing another tmc prolly next week, good time to come back! :) Only picked up the cleaners and the wellow polyps from the last order though :)

Tony, thanks mate :) as I said I took inspiration for the scaping from jeremy's tank, keeps it easy to clean :)

Will be adding the rowaphos today as well as doing a w/c and a bit of a spot clean :)

Also remebered whilst cleaning today that I had another small rfrag which had lost itself down a hole, it has been rescued :) Another freebie its not attached to a rock so I'm hoping that it will 'take root' in this little cranny :)

Yeah MH came up on this forum so had to have it, love the tank by the way looks good, im still not 100% happy with mine but will just leave, things growing nicely but don't want to disturb.

I'm hardly ever happy with mine, on one hand it gives you the incentive to better the tank, on the other its flipping expensive! ;)
I'm trying not to fiddle to much for a while now, may add a couple more corals though :)

I lost a cleaner a few days ago, the larger but shyer of the two, still havent found a reason, the other seems fine:annoyed:
Mushrooms sulking abit atm but I had a bit of a clean yesterday so it would be predicted.

New bright orange polyps with green mouths, blue with pink mouths and a mushroom which changes colour from grey'y blue to green and atm its brown lol

Also found a crab this morning, moved a rock and he scuttled off, the lights were off but I think he was blackish in colour... at least I think it was a crab!
lil worried about him but nothing I can really do atm!
