Hi Rob

I am currently running an Arcadia 150w 14000K DE bulb in my Bowini halide. However, I am thinking of changing it as I haven't been completely satisfied with the effect it creates.

I've heard some good reports from guys about your MarineLux bulbs and so was wondering how they compare to the arcadia brand. Naturally you will be biased towards your own brand but in what ways do you feel it is better.

Anyway, here's your chance to sell it to me:)

Cheers Phil.

Hi Phil

The Marine Lux 14,000k lamp has a very high par output compared with other 14,000k lamps. This makes it ideal for coral growth and propagation and has an 'ice blue' tinge. We have designed this lamp (14,000k) to be the No 1 choice of lamp for many, this after listening to reef keepers over the past few years who like the brightness and par output of a 10,000k lamp but also require a level of blue which can be seen by the human eye.

Regards

Thanks for that Rob. If I were to go for one of your MarineLux bulbs would I need to acclimatise my tank to it.

If it is a higher PAR than my Arcadia bulb would it be advisable to gradually build up the number of hours it were on for, or could I just stick it on for the same duration as the existing bulb right from the start.

Cheers Phil.

Hi Phil

Being a 150w i doubt if you will need to aclimatise the new lamp.

Hi Rob

Got the new bulb this morning and put it in the pendant and WOW !!! The effect is amazing. It is so much brighter and makes the colours really stand out.

All in all, I am really impressed and pleased by the result. Would highly recommend it to others.

Cheers Phil.:)

I certainly do Kev. The light produced is really crisp and fresh looking. Its far superior to the Arcadia lamp that I was using. Will be interesting to see how the corals respond to it.
