hi all its time for my attempt to post my setting up of my new second hand tank!
the best wife in the world has allowed me to go big, when i started we agreed to get a 240l marine tank which is now in my lounge.
as time has progressed i wanted bigger!!! and was looking for a bigger tank then i found it bought it then asked the missus if i could get it.
she liked it and i had to agree to do all the things around the house that i had been doing for the last 3 yearseg. garden,floors,bathroom etc.
all being well this baby should be in my home in around 2 weeks but before this can happen i have a few bits to do. ie get rid of old 6 foot tropical tank (fleabay)and replace all the floorboards (was 1 of the things i had to agree to do for the wife)
so the new tank wow cant get over how much of a bargin i got......
you know what the tank comes with and theese are the extras..

Wow, I would have loved to have that tank, was it the one for sale on here. I hope your feeling strong and have plenty of friends cos that is gonna be one heavy tank. It took 4 of of us to move my Deltec trendline and that's 5x2x2 :eek:

I can tell you now it took nine of us to lift my Tridacna.....see my thread below.
no its not the 1 that was advertised on here. it may have been if the seller had replied to 1 of my 6pms or 8 posts. well theres is 2 of us so far.

Well done! I guess its was the tank on Fleabay - i've noticed its not for sale anytome ;-)
Well its was advertised for just udner £4k - so guessing you got it around the £3.5k mark...
good set of quality extras as well. Does it include the livestock - if so, could be an even better bargain than the one sold on here

well bit of an update things going slow as my tropical tank didnt sell on fleabay:mad: its back on at a stupid price of £50 which takes the p**s as 1 of the fish is valued at £80.
which means that i cant replace the floor soooo i cant collect my new tank.
if it dont go soon it will be fish off to lfs and a smashing good time down the tip:laugh: damn im funny

well just a quick update tropical tank should be gone by monday sooo i can start laying the new floor (with a little strenghening for the tank) on tuesday. have ordered the flooring so that should arrive tue morn have it all done in a day then just have to stain and varnish it 500 times.
sould be picking tank up sum time between fri and sun.
just a quick update....
my tropical tank has gone so can get started on the new floor as soon as it delivered on tuesday so hopefully tank will be at mine on fri,sat or sunday. cant wait to get some fish and frags in there
any help setting up at my end would be great and the beers/t&coffee r on me. lol
if you can arrange a helicopter i'll come lend a hand :D

pretty cheap i think its only 8 months old and all the extras and lr and stock what would be a good price to pay scoob?

i would say, for all that lot, between 6 and 8,000 would be a reasonable price, assuming everything is also 8 months old like the tank.
tell your pilot to land it in the field opposite, position: 51.3863 degrees North 1.4086 degrees East. I'll flare him out a flat site and drop a wind sock so he can get the best approach :)

took nine to lift mine, but that was through a back gate and into a conservatory
it was stupidly heavy but worth it!!!!
just need to get a few bits sorted so will post pics soon
ok here we go heres a few piccys of my big tank move.

so a few repairs had to be made to the old floor with the help of my little 1 izzy.

so most of the floor got done. well enough to get the tank in so the next step was to get the wife to sand it.

so when she had finished in the early hours i had to get some stain down so heres me at 3am of the tank pickup day.

so after the drive down to liverpool and a coffee and standing in awe we started to drain the tank.

so after busting a gut putting stuff in the van which had a load legnth of 4.2m it still didnt fit.

PS: Can't believe you let your wife wear trainers in the tank to aquascape - do you know where they've been? ;)
she wouldnt go in bare foot so new pair washed i ro. had done my back in lifting the tank so sat with a tin and a cig and pointed lol so werent impressed!! lol
