Aquatronica not connecting to PC

I have a Sony Vaio FJ3S/W Laptop which I'm trying to use to connect to my Aquatronica.

whenever I connect to the PC the PC symbol appears briefly on the Aquatronica controller then disconnects and I get the following error message in the Aquatrronica Software " Attention Communication error with the system Code 7.11, The System has been disconnected form the PC"

I have tried manually selecting Com 5 to no avail.

However when I connect it to my old laptop a Sony TR1MP it works every time.

the unit has the latest software and firmware and all updates are current.

can any of you who are more technical suggest a solution to this annoying problem

No I'm running Windows XP Home Edition. do you know if it works with Vista?

Now thats a difficult question! the reason I want to use the new laptop is that the screen on the TR1MP is broken so I am using an external monitor which somehat defeats the purpose of having a small laptop.

I gather you are having problems are they the same as mine.

Have you tryed a reset of the Aquatronica controller

what type of computer are you using? and have you had any problems connecting it to your PC?
