Welcome back, well what can I say that hasn't already been said? These introductions get tougher and tougher each time, not because I enjoy writing them any less but because each tank is more than worthy of something a bit like a fanfare.
That said this tank is no exception, in fact this tank pushes the boundaries of entertainment. Incredible pictures and a marvellous, easy to read write up it doesn't matter what I write this month, those that follow the link below are in for a fantastic half hour, so as usual, grab yourself a cuppa, stick your feet up and enjoy UltimateReef's Tank Of The Month for August 2007.

Thats a cracking tank muzzy. I may be wrong but did you have a nudi problem a while back? We did but fortunately we managed to iradicate them (three months clear). Daily picking off of the nudi's and eggs. We have a fragging system for growing on corals so it was'nt as bad as trying to get rid of them from a display.

just come back from a relaxing couple of days in sunny devon.

yep, i got a maricultured monti digitata a few months back which I think must have brough the monti nudi's in with it.
After daily picking off with twezers they would reappear in a matter of days and a lot of tissue around the base was being eaten away.
I removed it from the tank and its been in the frag tank ever since.
I found the best way to remove the nudi's was to squirt them off into a bowl of tank water with a turkey baster.
after doing this for a few days ive never seen another one since.
They have not appeared on my other digitata or encrusting montis.
ive seen a few on the large orange plate monti, as i cant remove that i squirt any i see within the tank and seem to have removed them for now as no tissue has been eaten for a while.
as long as the food source is removed or they are removed from the food source then i should stay on top of them
ill reintroduce the original monti soon, once i find a space!

as you can see its changed a fair bit in the 6 months since that photo was taken, even the room layout has changed!

sandford - something has been chomping the growth tips on my hystrix the last week or so, no idea what, im glad the frags are growing well for you, i may need some frags back if my muncher continues! :laugh:

yeah the BTA is still going strong.
I was a bit worried a few months ago, my magfloat fell off and landed on it and caused a bad tear near the mouth, but it healed up within a few weeks.
He's stayed in the same place - at the back for the last year or so, still waiting for it to divide but no signs of this yet
