Okay, so the Profilux has got some funky LED lighting grooviness going on - are there any plans for something similar from the Aquatronica guys? I've invested too heavily in the Aquatronica kit now to consider swapping, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the 'Tronica Team will keep updating their product to stay in line with (or preferably ahead of!) the competition.
I'd much rather see "useful" additions like the Calcium probe, Nitrate / Nitrite probes maybe then flashing lights that only have a fun factor use.
A Tunze addition would be nice but again not important as the 7095 controller already does that anyway.

Agreed, Craig - but something like an LED light controller isn't an "unknown" to design and build - there's nothing ground breaking about it. From a marketing point of view, "keeping up with the Joneses" has always been important. The same could conceivably be said about the Tunze controller - it's not "new", it just needs incorporating into the Aquatronica "system".
Further probes would most certainly be very welcome, but I appreciate that these take a lot longer to develop and bring to market than a piece of solid state circuitry.
Seeing the LED light option on the profilux was what convinced us to switch from Aquatronica to Profilux.....it may be "fun" only but thats good enough for us!
You can always test for nitrate the old fashion way......you cant have a lighting storm though :D
Other half ordered our unit this week so hope to have it in a few days :D
Things do seem to have come to stand still on the AT, I hope it ain't going the same way as the IKS by resting on its laurels?? Last I heard was the Calcium & Nitrate probes were still a good 12mths plus away :(
Have you tried emailing them direct via their website to see what they have to say?
Cheers, Shelton.
instant squid - I think sooner or later you will have/want to change to the profilux, is there no way you can take a little loss on your tronica and then cross over to the darkside......its worth it.........c'mon you know you want to!

Want to? - hmmmm.... maybe.
Have to? - er... why??? Is it going to stop working????
A little loss would be around 50% of what I've paid so far - I have most of the Aquatronica accessories now, so it's simply not an option. As long as Aquatronica continue to move foward with the product, I see no reason why I should have to change it.
I know several new probes are being developed and tested but as shelton said it will be a while before they are released.
They were working on some lighting developments but my understanding was there are concerns with the new EU laws and people having to carry out the mods themselves so until they have absolute clarification it was on hold.
Hi
although I am not sure why lighting storms are a must have over really powerful things like X Y programming and other things that get engineers time but I will suggest to Aquatronica that they look at this as customers feel it is important.
