Now thats a tank i would travel to see, without doubt on par with any american/thailand tank out there superb for 5 months taking into account some of the corals came from an old tank.
Inspiring to say the least:thumbsup:

Awesome reeftank Neil! I can't believe the progress you've made in just 5 months. Credit to you m8 & I hope you sort all the little problems out soon. Great write-up too.... A well deserved Tank of the month!
Great tank and write up. I have a question -- you said that you clean your filter socks in a washing machine with no detergent. Do you worry about residual detergents left in the machine from washing of clothes?

Tis looking great! What did you do to silence the sequence pumps?

Thank you all for the kind words and again another thanks goes out to all the guys in the Marine-Get-Together group for answering all the nagging questions:o .
I have a question -- you said that you clean your filter socks in a washing machine with no detergent. Do you worry about residual detergents left in the machine from washing of clothes?
To be honest, no. I wash them all 3 times. 2 cold washes and one hot to kill and bugs. I would think this would get rid of most detergents. Not saying this is the best way to do it, but it saves throwing them away after 1 use.
What did you do to silence the sequence pumps?
The pumps are not yet silent and would still not be my first choice if I built another system. I find that they need to be stripped regularly to clean the impellors. Putting them in the cabinet helps too, but you need to ensure that there is plenty of airflow round them for cooling.

Neil well done. A well thought out tank. I know a lot of effort went into what you see now. I am sure it will get even better.
And I don't mind taking the credit for putting your tank forward for TOM in the first place as I thought you really deserved it.
Regards

how do you keep the glass clean around the sand with magnet cleaner does it not scratch the glass ??
Keeping a Multibarred Angel is impressive in its own right! Very envious of that.

Hi there,
I dont use the magnet near the substrate. I use a stanly blade about once a month or so and scrape towards the sand.
