to be honest ive never heard of it but i'll be definatly getting the kit as it seems they must be good.

i just put a list of ones i've heard of to see whats the best out of them.

i use a.p.i as i thought they were good and JBL for p04.

i thought the others gave inacurate readings and wanted to check other peoples opinion.

oh well seems salifert is the best.

down to my lfs to see what he has.

regards wes.

Also Salifert/ D&D for phosphate.
Had a bad experience with nutrafin Calcium reading 450ppm when level verified by 2 other kits as 260ppm!

I use Salifert for all my marine test kits.

I use Sera for my tropical tank, as they're a bit cheaper and they last a bit longer, and I dont need them to be so precise as for the marine.

There are some pretty shocking test kits out there though, I used tetra for a while when I first started with my tropicals and they were horrendous - the test tube markings were all wrong, and the colours kept coming up completely wrong lol

Quick question, why do people use a different brand for Po4??

zimreef
23-09-07, 14:35
D&D/Merck PO4 is apparently more accurate and tests to a much lower level of phosphate than any others I know of.

I have found Hagens KH Ca and N03
test kits to give the same results as Salifert.
I find the P04 tests give different values.
Hagen being more sensitive.

On the hole I prefer Hagen for N03 because
the test is simpler and just as accurate IMO.

Regards

Ump...

Ps Hagen and nutrafin are one of the same
