For those that don't know, there is going to be a new series of postal strikes. From what I can tell, it will put postal deliveries out for at least a week from Thursday Lunchtime.

As we use a lot of postal services for our deliveries this will have an impact on delivery times. So rather than a free delivery by royal mail offer we will be offering a free upgrade to a next working day courier service.

To claim this offer, simply select "forum courier upgrade" as your chosen shipping method on the second page of checkout and you will only be charged the following:
up to 0.5 kg £2.99
up to 1 kg £3.99
up to 2 kg £4.99
over 2 kg £5.99

You will then receive your order if placed before 12 noon the next working day despite the postal strike!

This is the latest announcement from Royal Mail for those who hadn't heard:

Steve.

"The Communications Workers Union (CWU) has announced further strike action, in the form of two 48-hour strikes, from lunchtime on Thursday 4th - lunchtime on Saturday 6th October, and from the early hours of Monday 8th - early hours Wednesday 10th October.

This will be followed by an unspecified programme of weekly strikes, starting w/c October 15th, until the resolution of the dispute.

The situation is very serious, as this action will severely limit our ability to provide any services for the coming period. Customers should expect severe disruption to all postal services during the strikes and for a significant period afterwards. We will endeavour to deliver Special Delivery items on the due day, however we have suspended money back guarantees for items posted on 4th October onwards. These guarantees will be restored as soon as we are confident we can offer our normal high quality service. "

Well, the strike has started and postal deliveries will be severely delayed if they occur at all over the next week. For this reason I will not be sending out any deliveries via Royal Mail for at least a week!

However, I have decided to reduce the costs for furum members during this period.

Orders under £25 will be charged £2.99 (next working day courier service)
Orders over £25 FREE!!! (next working day courier service)

Select Forum courier upgrade as you shipping method during checkout.

This applies to the mainland UK only. If you are not on the mainland please contact me for a discounted shipping rate.

I have been a wally, didn't spot this before I ordered my ATC800 yesterday. APC tried to deliver today (great speedy service by the way) and will try again tomorrow, but we both work all day so won't be in. The depot is quite a distance away and not open at weekends so I reckon it will end up coming back to you.

If it does can it be sent back via Royal Mail? Understand if I need to pay, just I can get to them if we are not home to pick up the parcel.

Thanks,

Matt.

Steve,

Will send it through in a minute. I you do succeed could you let me know before they deliver. I have to tell my work if anything electrical is coming in as everything goes through x-ray before being accepted and if it is not on a list of expected deliveries they will turn it away.

Thanks for trying to help,

Matt.
