I have a rabid skimmer!!

My UltraSkim1 went a tad mental again lastnight, even with the outlet pipe wide open it was producing so many bubbles that it was filling the collection cup with clear skimmate very quickly, not only that so many bubbles were coming out of the bottom outlet you also couldn't see into the section which houses the skimmer!

Its almost as if the pump had suddenly starting pumping more air/water into the skimmer than it could handle? :confused:

I checked the skimmer/outlet piping to make sure there are no blockages, it sits in about 7¼" of water (very stable level) & nothing different in the tank apart from some GAC on sunday night?

Any ideas please people?

My Ati bubblemaster went crackers in a similar fashion last week,i just put it down to a spawning event while i was out or something as nowt else changed.One of life's little mysteries lol.

Hmmmmmm, perhaps the same then? Now home from work so going to give the venturi a good clean & lift it a little higher in the water....
