hi danny, sorry but the sohal is dead as some phuck wit thought it would be a good idea to burgal our shop and turn off the electric...but it gets better...the police were notified of the burgalry at 9.00pm sunday eve...and we still have not been notified so the leccy to the fish system has been off for nearly 2days! it was not untill i popped in today to feed the fish i found all the till computers gone or smashed up that i saw the return was off and turned the electric back on but a lot of fish were dead, and the rest dont look too good:mad:
shop back door still wide open...great!!
so all in all a pretty shitty day today...
that is a real shitter mate
you have only just got going as well.
whats the matter with people, why turn the leccy off??? just take the computers and run, fugging idiots :(

thanks for the words guys, i think they turned the leccy off hoping to disable the alarm.
were closed mon and tues and the break in was sun night normally ben (the other half of cct) goes in mon and tues to feed check everything's ok but his missus was in and out of hospital with a baby due, which is another story due to the balls ups at the hospital so he could not get in, i was out with my son on monday so arranged to go in today which is when i found the mess:mad:
am at a loss with the police, they said they had no contact no but it would not have taken 5 mins to nip into the pub or hotel opposite who know us and have contact numbers but they seem to have over looked this:confused:
if they had of called one of us the livestock could have been saved:(
thats whats bothered me more than anything.

they get paid to read out of a book not use there brains!!
a sad state of play....im gutted to hear about this even if i have never dealt with you guys.
:(
as for the scum that did it....best not to vent my true feelings here!
:annoyed:
not police bashing here but i would have a quick chat with your lawyer about this issue as to me it stinks of negligence.
surely someone who dealt with this shout could've passed the word to the owners????
with a police computer (amongst other things) at their disposal i find it hard to believe that you could not have been traced and contacted simply?
im sure if you had been trading illegally in some way they would have no trouble.......

they could of asked neighbouring buiesneses...or if it was not to much trouble.... looked on companys house and found a few simple details there:whistling:
sorry to hear about your loss . hope things get better for you .regards tomo
oh no!
Steve im sorry to hear this mate. F*cking w*nkers. What a stress. Poor little fishys too. :(
See you saturday.
Steven, sorry to hear this, gutted for you.
The negligence thing is a no goer, it is up to the shop owner to inform either the alarm companies central station or the Police station off all the contact / call out details.
Very sorry to hear whats happened. Marshalls has it spot on : Book reading traffic wardening do gooding numbskulls about sums it up! When i got burgled i knew his name and where he was and they still didnt catch him. 42 in a 40 zone tho and they'll find ya:mad: Rant extension available!
Sorry to here about your loss mate. :( Hope you don't lose too much more.
Wow, that sucks big time. I don't even have a saltwater tank of any kind, but as I would like to one day I've been paying attention to PFK articles on reefs, reading reef threads in forums, and reading up on stomatopods (the coolest invertebrate ever!). I live just outside of Cambridge and noticed an ad for Cambridge Coral Tech in PFK and thought that I should make a visit to check you guys out. Just did a web search on "Cambridge Coral Tech" to see what others thought of you (answer: they think you're great!) and found this thread. My extreme condolences. I hope your business recovers and grows. I will need a shop like you guys when I get around to setting up that first reef tank.
Just read this, if I was you I would put a complaint into the police regarding that fact that the shop was not secured.
We (the police..yes I am one) have a duty to secure proprty if we can not find/get hold of the owner - I have been to lots of empty premises and secured it with no knowledge of the owner...I would be in serious trouble (hint) If I had attended the break done nothing and then after someone else got in and trashed the shop.
I would be looking at a neglect of duty investigation.
Cambridge should have a control room log of what happened (ie what the offiecrs told their control room when they attended and what effort they made to contact you) ask them for a copy .. as an aggrieved to a burglary they have a duty under the victims charter to update you on the investigation - you might be avble to drop that in and twist it a bit to get a copy of the log.......would be interesting reading!!!
Jon
Steve and Ben,
I can not believe i am reading this, hope you get sorted.

cheers for the words guys...means alot, as jobr says there's nothing we can do with regards to not being notified:annoyed: had the insurance bod around today he basicly said...theres ***** all you can do!!
but were getting everything back together slowly, the fish system that was off is being hit with good water changes, plenty of carbon ect...so far still zero amonia and nitrite so fingers crossed, some tanks have had spot out breaks due to the tempreture drop...stress ect so uv's working over time and its time for the copper to come out:rolleyes: but will not be selling fish untill i'm happy all is good but will be a while:( all corals are fine as they are on a different circuit....phew, but untill the till, epos system and card machine is sorted i'm still having to turn buisness away. had lots of folk turn up to be dissapointed...but what guts me the most is watching some fish break out in spot:( poor little buggers...and the sohal tang was a stunner....gutted.
