Cheers,
I can figure out where the pumps go, but how do you set up the outlets, as i see that they are adjustable?? How do you tune the skimmer in?? A piccy would be nice.
Oh ye its the new model is that makes any difference?? Also just noticed that there's a drain hole in the skimmer cup but no pulg or valve - any ideas???
Chris

Looks ok to me, superb skimmers, would not part with my skim 2 pulls out gunk that smells like something the dog laid :whistling:
Your setup looks right, what you need to do is position the skimmer so that the water level is just higher then the top of the white tee's that are either side of the skimmer, then to adjust the skim height you turn the blue tubes that come out of the tee's in either direction, one way the skim level will go up and the other way down, i would try to set both at the lowest point then slowly turn each one a little till you get the correct height of skim your after.
What wheel do you have on the aquabee? Meshwheel and Needlewheel have the air intake before the pump, Venturi goes after then pump. I can't see how you've set that up...so just double checking
The hole under the skimmer cup is a drain pipe. You either need to connect this to a collection bucket or you should connect it to a tap. Measure the drain hole pipe but If i'm not mistaken, it should be about 10mm. RSWWW do 10mm push fittings which would work well!
To adjust the water level in the skimmer, the two large output pipes will need adjusting. If you pull both pipes out you will see that they're cut at an angle. Twisting them adjusts how much flow goes past them. Start with getting the bubbles to break just below the skimmer cup and adjust the skimmer gunk to your liking once its had time to break in.
Last tip - where the pumps connect to the skimmer with the silicone tube, make sure its spaced enough so the silicone cuts out any vibration. If the pumps touch the skimmer body they can cause some vibration noise.
I'm sure you'll be very happy with your skimmer!
Take Keiths advice as it is correct, unlike posts above.

Cheers Keith,
Its the meshwheel version so ive got the air on the intake. Yes its a 10 mm pipe for the drain.
About the outlets, i guessed that was how they worked but what about the 2 holes that are at the top of the angled pipe?? Do they need to be open or covered with the collar??
Cheers,
Chris.
If your talking about the two little black plastic pipe parts that are sticking out the top of the two blue pipe, these air air vent pipes and you should not cover them as they allow the air that goes into the pumps to be filtered through some wool thats inside the tube.
:)

These should not be covered as they allow the air to escape from the output pipe. However, having said that, I have accidently covered mine and I didn't find it made any difference to performance.
The collars are just to hold the silencer in place. The silencers don't even need to be held that closely to the top of the output pipes. They don't do much other than silience the sucking noise!
FYI, If you ever run ozone..do it after the silencer.

Cheers Keith,
Whats the best depth for these have read on one of the other threads that about 16cm - 18cm in the required depth.
Chris.
I own a skim 3 and have mine sitting 18cm in the water and find this works well.
:)

Chris.
I currently run my Skim2 meshwheel at around 20cm depth and it works fine. When I ran the venturi mode I had to raise the skimmer to about 15cm because so much water was getting pushed into the skimmer. The meshwheel takes in more air and a little less water so IMO can have the water level a tad higher.
Have your skimmer anywhere between 15 - 22cm and play around with the height until you are happy with the skim mate.
