Purchased a loverly looking sea pen the other day from my LFS.

now in the display tank it was lying down, so i assumed it went like this, but looking in a book of mine they all seem to stand up>!?

now i tried to stand it up in the sand bed, but i reckon its not deep enough and it just topples over..

what can i do?!

a friend of mine says he knows they need good flow so i picked a spot.

do i need to attach it to a small piece of live rock>!

im pretty new to marine stuff so dont 100% know what to do.

Thanks guys.

they need seriousllllyyyyy deep sandbeds in order for them to survive!! think the minimum is around 5-6 inches

and even then they are very difficult to keep if i was you i would return it to the lfs as you have been sold some think you cant provide a good home for

in what way are they difficult to keep???
my mate has one little smaller than mine and he has it for a good while now.

i guess the bigger they get the deeper the bed needed..
