Hi,

I was just about to mix up my balling salts and for balling you should use Calcium Chloride-Dihydrate? The tub that I have says that it is CalciumHydroxide, which my understanding means it is kalk basically and not right for balling and I have 4kg of the stuff.

However, the labels and everything say that is for balling. So is it just mislabeled or should I take it back and get it replaced. Luckily I haven't opened it yet.

*Edit - not going to take the risk am going to get it changed.

Thanks,

Matt.

Calcium hydroxide and calcium chloride are most definitely NOT the same thing!

Bit of an old thread. They are two different things. Turns out mine was an early mislabeled tub, turned out it was chloride so have been using it since.

HI

It is very easy to see what is in

the chlorid is cristalline powder like a typical salt
the hydroxyd ia a very fine powder which looks like Powdersugar

there is long time ago that we have mislabeld products.
I can check the batches

Claude,

No need to check on this one, the thread was old and Jez advised it was an early mislabled tub.

Thanks,

Matt.
