View Full Version : Sun Coral placing
I am the proud new owner of a sun coral which is already eating well. My only question is, would you place it direct on the sand or on a base of rock ?
Cheers

Hi,
I guess congratulations on the new Sun Coral are in order. :)
Put it on a rock base as it'll grow and expand with regular feeding. Sand would only cause problems.

Sun corals are found on rocks so I would suggest mounting on the rocks would be the better option. However, its more important that you place it where you can feed it easily.
Its the feeding that concerns me, I was thinking of using the cut off coke bottle option but worry if I put it on the rocks the excess will drop into the rocks and not get eaten.
I prefer to just use a turkey baster and feed each polyp individually. You don't get as much wasted food.
