i have not seen this poll either (i like doing these polls, lol)
Which light unit do you use?
and if you can say what made you use that type, i.e. cost, good make, ect ect ect
Giesemann Infinity
- First class build quality
- Probably the best looking unit on the market which is important as the lighting unit is not hidden on my tank
- Good design: T5s are angled into the tank

Good discription
Aquamedic Oceanlight 150+ Wouldn't buy another one though.
At 18 months old the t5 ballast packed in. LFS who sold it to me got in touch with the rep who said he would sort it, but despite constant calls he has failed to do so - says they are out of stock of t5 balasts. Yeah right - so they're not making any new lights at the moment then?
Two Ocean Runner pumps have also packed up at around the same time, so it seem like maybe Aquamedic don't make their stuff to last. I won't be buying any more of it that's for sure.

Haqos (or however you spell it) clamp on 150w MH.
2 x 400 watt Lumenarcs and 1 x 54 watt KZ Figi purple and 1 x 54 watt D&D actinic unit over the tank and a Giesmann moonlight over the sump and frag holding area with 2x 250 watt and 2 x 54 watt bulbs.
:)
Lumenarc III reflectors the best reflectors on the market!
Slightly ugly/modern
I use a couple of STM compact 250w although I have upgraded the ballasts to Marine Lux electronics:) . Also run a 4' STM T5 unit with actinics.
All lamps/bulbs are Marine Lux
Aquamedic Electronic ballast aquasunlight SG with moonlight LED's with 3 250w and 4 T5 Blues

none of the above...:D
mines all made from seperates...
but basically..
2 x 400W in twin parabolic hydroponic diamond reflectors, plus 4 x 54w actinics in Diy light rails.
plus another 2 x 150W spots to be added shortly..
regards
Si.
My lights came with the D+D 24 gal. nano.Only set up at christmas,so time will tell.Don't like not being able to put sep.timers on daylight and moonlights.without stripping/modding the hood etc.Surely there is a way of putting an in line shunt to a timer for the moonlights.Steve.

Geisemann Infiniti - 2x 250watt 'Coral' + 2x 'daylight'+ 2x Actinic. As for the reason why ? Wot keith_Man said.
I'm on my second set of Giesemann's - agree, the build quality is superb, but as for reflector design, ain't that great from test comparisons I've seen, not even close to lumenarcs. Best of both worlds is Sfiligois XR4, lumenarc style reflector without the cowshed looks.
Arcadia Luminaires and Interpet PC t5s - Suprised they're not in the list (the PCs)

I have Aquamedic 2 x 150W with a 42" T5 Act Blue running under a length of Black Acrylic along the front of my Per120

Arcadia 150W metal halide pendant. I chose this one over the Aquamedic oceanlight because its got a far better focus on the tank, as the oceanlight spills out all over the place!
blub ;)
Arcadia 250W 3 Series, I wanted to upgrade from a 150W halide and Keith Man was willing to deliver. :)
Jeff.
arcadia series 3... it looks great in the living and is well made and never gone wrong
arcadia series 3 250w with actinics
Silver sun twin 250w with 2 54w t5's and built in led moonlights x2 i have to say im very happy with this, in an ideal world it would have been a giessemann unit but the lack of available cash pointed me towards these from ebay, pleasantly surprised though.:)
bowini twin 150w halide here!
bought cheap second hand with the t5's not working which i repaired!
KR 91 LED unit great unit so far
home made 8 x 54w t5 jobby

Had Blau's before and with the new upgrade using Fauna Marin T5s.
None of the above. IceCap/Iwasaki Metal Halide Pendant Kit (150W PAR36 20000K bulb). The bulb is driven by Vossloh-Schwabe electronic ballast.
