Tank of the month is back and here ends the first quarter! This months tank has stood the test of time and like all featured tanks this one is special! Long standing skimmerless ecosystems are a very rare thing and having one as beautiful as this right here on UR is a wonderful thing. Who knows we may see a few more popping up following this shining example.
Congratulations Roddy and Sharon, it's a beautiful tank and a worthy winner of the coverted UR.com TOTM award!

A very nice tank!
It has a natural look, could be a piece of the reef (which can't be said of many tanks)!
I think that your diving has had an influence on that.
Hope mine can come close to it in the future.
Well done!:applause:

Well done sharon and roddie
a fantastic tank and real credit to your husbandry skills keeping it running so long and without a skimmer!
very few tanks make it to 5 years, so thats worthy of an award in itself

Hi Stotty
We upgraded the lid for the Koralin 1501 calcium reactor and that made a huge difference to the output due to more accurate pH control and more efficent gas usage. yes we have been out 3 or 4 times to buy dry goods.

The Hysterix's that you have looks fantastic very bright. How big was it when you first bought it and how long as it taken to get that big?
cheers
Stunning tank. Congratulations
Hee Hee :D The hysterix was given to us as a 1" snap from a friend. We stuck it on it's side onto a piece of of LR and left it on our frag rack for a few months. I think we have probably had it 4 and a bit years. It is very pink and we have given loads of bits away but it doesn't move tanks very well so rarely survives. I hope it survives when we upgrade our tank:(:(
Sharon
Thats a cracking tank. Gives a newbie like me something to aspire to!
Congrats and a job well done.
