I have some time spare over the Easter holydays and I would quite like to write an article for you guys.

So ill leave this thread open for a few days, then put the titles in to a poll so you can vote on them.

Then ill see what I can do, if you could try and keep the subject biological because I’m doing a marine bio degree. So hopefully I will be up to the task of that, but if the consensus is for something mechanical ill do my homework and see what I can do.

Just so you know I’m not trying to blow my own horn saying I’m amazing at writing articles. It’s because this is near the end of my first year and I have only had to write two essays. I would like to do at least one more before my second year, and I’m stuck for ideas on what to do.

So get thinking, James :)

Something I've noticed thats missing and may help the newer and experienced people would be algae and the ways to fight it. Threads quite often show up asking about it.

Wozza, thanks for your offer. We would love to have you write articles for UR. The same goes for any of our members who want to have ago.

I think an article on the basics of phosphates would be very useful

Why not get right back to basics, do a detailed look at the bacteria in our systems responsible for nitrogen processing?

"the nitrogen cycle for the marine aquarist" and maybe your personal thoughts/choices/experiences of various methods of filter systems that attempt to work with this cycle/process in mind.

there is already an article on the nitrogen cycle, but a more indepth look at the specific bacteria would be interesting especially if compared with the latest probiotic bacteria additives

Here is a list of current articles we have:

and here is a current list of UR trip write ups:

There are some great articles and write ups on UR but they can sometimes be a little hard to find. We welcome anyone to try a write up. The UR team will check it over and if gets the thumbs up - we publish it on UR.
