Hi,

I have an ATC800, and you sent me a plastic probe some time ago to try to get round the temp drop when my Aquamedic I-Bar is switched on. I still have a ~1deg temp drop, and have read on here a possible fix with a capacitor. Could you let me know exactly what I will need (looks to be a 10nf capacitor), but not sure on voltage rating...), and looking at the posts, it looks as though I would just wire the capacitor into the terminals the temp probe plugs into?

Cheers

1 degree temperature drop?

yeah, display drops by ~1 deg when lights are on, so when they switch off, the fans all come on to cool it by 1deg

OK I am a little confused.

What temperature have you set the unit at? And what temperature does it which on the heaters and coolers at above or below your set Temperature. 1 degree + or - minus? Does this not happen? Is the probe close to the lights?
Sorry for all the questions but I am trying to understand your problem. Maybe someone who has had the same problem will jump in.

As I understand it, the ATC seems to pick up interference form the I-Bar (made by arcadia). I originally had a metal temp probe, and when the lights switched on, the temperature would drop by 2 degrees. The probe is in my sump. I have now fitted the plastic probe, and the temp drop is around 1 degree.

The temp is set to 25degrees, so when it gets to 24, the heater comes on, and when it gets to 26, the fans come on, the problem is that when the lights are on, the temp display drops by 1 degree....
