The One i bought today fellas, is no good for me. they are on a 2 pin plug I don't have the room to get it in along with a 2 pin adapter, would it be ok to return it when i come to pick up the arcadia bulbs next week ?
The plug adapter takes up no more room.
The 2 pin goes in underneath, not in the front like a shaver adapter, so should be ok, as it takes up no more room than a conventional plug.
Explain please ?
The plug is a 2pin transformer type so is 2.5" thick already, then i have to plug that into an adapter before i plug it into the socket, adapter being 1" thick, socket is 1" thick total 4.5" thick and i don't have the space between my tank stand, sockets and wall to house this extra width.
why cant you just cut the plug off and wire on a uk plug?
it wont void any warranty's afaik
because as its a Power Compact 9w unit for my refugium, the transformer/ballast is in the plug I believe so i cant just cut it off and change it for any UK plug.
If i could that would be great as its Blue/White 50/50.
As long as its ok i will just exchange it for a different type if thats ok with southwest, there is just a space issue where i will be plugging it in, there is nothing wrong with it, far from it it is a great pice of kit.

Sorry Dan only just seen this. I forgot to give you the adaptor with your light. It will fit without making plug larger. It's no problem though if you want to swap it. I'll give you a ring on sat morning to sort things out.
Matt
cool matt if the adapter makes it no thicker then that should be fine its the added
adapter that causes the problem, will sort it out when i come down to pick up my bulbs next week ok ?
Dan as matt said, the two pin slots in to the adapter where the normal lead would go, hence it doesn't make the plug any bigger than a standard, didn't explain it very well last night, sorry.
Thats ok jobr, i was unsure and matt forgot to give me the adapter yesterday. I will pick it up next week.
Thanks for your information m8.

i dont know why people bother with adaptors for 2 pin plugs?
ive always pushed a 2 pin plug straight into a 3 pin socket, you need to press down the earth pin first in the socket using a thin tool like electricians screwdriver for eg. this releases the lock mechanism in the socket to allow the live and neutrals to go in. then slip the 2 pin plug in while the earth pin is pressed down, bit fiddly but easily done.
just make sure the power is off to the circuit before starting, or you could end up frazzled :D
