There are years and years of experience on UR and often is the case a fish dies from one problem or another. What is the longest lived fish in your aquarium and for how long did you have the fish for?

:thanks:

Only kept marines for about two years, but I hope the ones we have last a long time.
My oldest goldfish when he died was fifteen, and for the last few years he was completely white (piscine equivalent of grey hair I presume)

I'm loath to say it, as when I was boasting last year about my yellow assessor being 11 years old, he disappeared that week:eek:, but I have a common clown who's a lot older than that.:whistling:

The shop I used to work at, a well known one in Hampshire, has a display tank that housed a coral beauty that was around 18 years old when it finally disappeared. It also has a huge rose anemone (i think) that is still going strong and around 16/17 years old. I used to point out to customers that the coral beauty was older then one of the members of staff!!

Had my clown for 14 years, and many of my other were added to my current tank when it was set up 6 years ago (3 Regal tangs, 5 of the 6 Yellow tangs, an anthias, Flame angel, bangai cardinal and probably a few more)

I've only been keeping fish for 3 years and the first fish I bought is still going strong, although he did go blind in one eye a year and a half ago but it's never seemed to bother him.

My Yellow Tang and Clowns are as near to 8 as I can count!!

Been in this house 5 years, had the fish in my old aquarium at old house for nearly 3 years. Bloody things are like proverbial brick sh*thouses - going like gooduns!!

I've had many fish go into their 6th year, but only one has been with me over 7, my Centropyge bispinosus. He has survived, Cryptocarion 5 or 6 times, Amyoodinium, tank crashes, bullies, etc and looks gorgeous. He is the surviviour of a group of three and was the smallest of the group!

Other longlived fish have been P. annularis, A. tricolour, Rh. quesita and Ct. striatus.

Had a flame angel in my old FO for 7 years (and was adult when I bought him) - he'd still be going now, I'm sure, but for a nasty whitespot outbreak.
