hi, have just purchased the skim 3 mesh wheel....working ok so far but the pumps are noisy...they seem to be vibrating on the skimmer body...
is there anyway of making them more silent.....manythanks..

I have a skim 3 and mine is not noisy at all, have you tried just moving the pumps a little to see if that helps, it should be reasonably quiet.

i know yours wasnt noisy...tryed all that...its not pulling out as much crap as i would of thought either....perhaps because new tank and not a lot of crap in it?
john how high up the skimmer neck do you have the bubbles?

We try first to replace the wheels but it was the right way
After replace the pump all was quiet

john how high up the skimmer neck do you have the bubbles?
I have the bubbles breaking at around half way up the neck, as the skimmer is new it will take a little time to bed in so be patient as regards the pump i would take up Claude's offer if you have not already.

i had it running for about a week in salt water...i'll post a pic of it in action.....what i do like is how easy the collection cup is to clean...nice and easy..

still not happy with this skimmer...i thought it would pull out a lot of crap...last couple of days hasnt done a lot and the colour is almost transparant...i thought it would be a lot darker in colour...
perhaps the mesh wheel is not as good as the needle wheel?

Ricky, you have to give it some time and if it is too clear then you need to lower the skim height to get a darker thicker skim.

ok guys a little update...
3-months later and still no pumps...
claud i dont know what you are doing but the service is poor....loads of promises and no results...
am thinking now of giving skimmer back and opting for something else..
i have just sent an x-box back to germany for repair..
they collected it..repaired it...and sent it back..all within seven days....now thats a service...

ok, claud i have received a pump...but you have sent me the wrong pump, why? you have sent me a lower power pump that deltec use on their calcium reactors....the mesh wheel does not fit inside the pump housing..surley claud you must know what pump goes with which item dont you?

Which pump you get.
You can use your Meshwheel from the other pump
like i said it is not the wheel which made noise
It is also faster and more helpful if you send
a mail to the company

the meshwheel doesnt fit in the pump you sent me....the pump you sent is the 15.watt
2000 1,6 hm ip68.
the pumps i already have are ip.68...33 watt..3.0 hm
the neck of the pump you sent is not big enough for the mesh wheel...

dont bother with the pumps as i cant be ar.;;.,..d to keep posting for these pumps. another month gone by and still nothing been done...this is not good advertising for fauna marin...and as i spend a tremendous amount of money on their products i am to say the least so disappointed.

what is the point when you cant send the right pump in the first place..i cant beleive you dont know what pump goes with what skimmer...plus you not only sent me one pump my skimmer has two pumps..so one pump isnt no good anyway..
5-months on and still no reply...great arnt they?

claud..i have received no more pumps other than the first one you sent which is the wrong pump...i have not got any other pumps...i dont understand why you keep saying you have sent pumps out to me...(nothing arrives).if i had sent the noisy pumps back i would be months without a skimmer....
claud i think we should call this a day...i will keep my noisy pumps...as i have got used to them now...well ive had to. you obviously dont know what you are doing(no offence).
i dont want to fall out with you claud...these indeed are good skimmers...its just your after care service is rubbish..
