View Full Version : Stock Pics
Hopefully to be updated next few days.
Not necessarily new stock but actually what is in as of NOW.
I have also taken on board a few complaints that the pics appeared "blue" by taking more time working them (colours are a TRUE reflection) I have only Cropped and White Balanced.
I hope to have them priced as well but cant guarantee it as I will need to spend a few hours on the phone to Mark, (I will endeavour to re-price what I already had priced up, even though the pics will be new).
Also I will wave bye bye to the Yellow background, this was only done as one of Marks favourite web sites use that same colour scheme.
I'm also working on the entire site layout, but this will take some further testing etc. And will not be changed until I'm happy.
Craig
LPS and Fish sections updated.
Be warned there are no prices on Fish and LPS section a fair few TBC's.
I plan on speaking to Mark today and correcting this!!!lol
SPS / Softies will be added tonight I hope.
Craig
Sorry LPS off line as I got some of the prices well wrong.
Will be back online tonight
As you may have already noticed, I have started the re-design of the site!!!long way to go though
LPS added and Priced with some fun descriptions added.
SPS added but to be priced tomorrow
Softies / Others - Added but to be priced tomorrow
Fish - Added and maybe priced tomorrow
Taunton Aquarium Centre Web Site (http://www.tauntonaquariumcentre.com)

im going to play devils advocate ...
any plans to go e-commerce?
haha how many hours in the day are there ?
im kidding of course - hard to do unless you can dedicate all your time to it
and i know you look after the site part time
But the site looks way way better - haha can see some suggestions being taken up!
Pics looks much much more natural
haha 'Lighting Strike'
Keep up good work ...
Stock wise I can say no one can touch TAC....
at least no one on the net that is ....
just thought id mention, when viewing in 1024x768 you have to scroll across the page as it doesnt all fit in the window! ;)

Actually let me add to that
you lot are taking the pi** with current stock
damn .... flexible friend is limbering up possibly..
Thanks Muzzy, I'll work on the size
Right let me answer some commons questions...well one anyway.
Are TAC going to go Ecommerce?
Well the short answer is "YES"
~BUT~
Only when I know Mark and the team cope with the online orders.
Let me Explain.
At present you CAN order any of the displayed corals or dry goods (yes I know that has to be added) via the phone. For NEXT DAY delivery. But Mark and his team have full control over this, you ring, he takes you order and payment and discusses delivery etc...However we all know with online orders we expect delivery next day from order being place. The current way Mark can chat and explain and more importantly work with YOU.
So.
Let me re-iterate.
YOU CAN ORDER ANYTHING on the web site for MAIL ORDER delivery but at present there will not be an automated e-commerce cart. I'm ready but I do not believe Mark is. In no way is this a criticism of Mark and the Team, simply I guess I'm trying to ensure they remain in control.
But YES with the agreement of Mark WE do plan to offer a full E-commerce site in the future.....Just not quite yet.
Craig
well i offered to run ecommerce for him a while back but i guess he was too busy to think any further!
the offer still stands if he wants to employ me full time to run things

I guess ill join the line then
But im offering to help Craigg - so ill step out and begin my own line ....
N/A Means Mark is not happy with them and would prefer they spent some time settling, BUT if you like what you see Ring him and make an offer, he may just decide to let them go rather than holding onto them until he is happy
Please dont think my reply was a stroppy have a go reply....I was just expressing where we are with Ecommerce.. at present it pretty much depends on me making the 160 mile each way trip to get pics, then I dont always get updated on whats sold....thus control gets lost.
I know Mark has a VERY loyal customer base......We all want the same....trouble is as Mark is a friend I dont want him to have to do 16 hours per day where as he currently does 12-14 lol.
I wish I lived closer!!!!

were you talking to me craigg ?
If you were no offense taken - I was being cheeky anyways
You have the best online site for stock -
You are just one behind the best site online - only cause they are full ecommerce... but they spent a lot of time and money setting it up from scratch...
...actually I quite like the way it is re livestock, we get the info (i.e. pics and prices) and you are able to ring up to confirm the livestock hasn't been sold and place an order and agree the courier details, time etc.
Best Regards
Nigel
PS: Thanks Craig, it really is an improvement having the good close up pictures.

TAC always have great stock and the pack the corals so well too.
I wonder if whoever bought one of them acans gets free postage, what ya think?
Craig do you know if TAC do free postage if you spend over a certain amount

With such a large and expensive piece it could probably be arranged if the lucky buyer contacted Mark.
Jeff.
think i like the red and green more but I wouldn't say no to either :)
will make a note of this.
For future reference of course :)

Yeah looking at the red/green one out of context its lovely but considering in the past over here we've only really had red/green+variants available Id take the opportunity to get something more unusual.
That "Green / Purple Tiger Stripe with Plum Purple Eye" one is definitely still top dog. Wish I could get a slice of that beast.:wub:
