Hmm does this go here or in the vids? It ended up as a vid, but realy its all photography ...
Anyway .... i was messing about with my 30D this afternoon in the garden, and ended up with something to freak my little nephews out :applause:

Jim
Sorry, completely forgot to shed light :S
Equipment =
Canon 30D
Tripod
TC-80N3 (timer shutter release)
Software =
CS2 (for the graphics)
Windows Movie Maker (to put all the images into one sequence)
Then post processing with Vegas 6.0 (addition of sound, puttin it all together and rendering it for youtube)
Hope that helps?
Cheers Claude,i assume you cloned out yourself or other in cs2 who was positioning the gnomes, must have took a while and 200+ shots i would think.
Jim
No, there was no CS2 editing of the photos. I used a timer release, and it was only 67 frames(ish)
Move the gnome, step out of frame, take the pic, Move the gnome, step out of frame, take the pic, Move the gnome, step out of frame, take the pic, Move the gnome, step out of frame, take the pic, ...... rinse and repeat :)
That's a good result for under 70 frames,my 1st thoughts were you had moved out the shot but going by my judgement(200+ Lol) on how many shots you had took hence my thoughts on post processing.
The more i think of what i have said and read it's obviously time for me to call it a night no one in their right mind would edit out 200+ in PS .

Timelapse sequence

163 frames
one photo per sec
sequence rate = 8 fps
Claude thanks for a great memory, to explain:-
my Grandfather used to do stop motion cinematography back in the 60's and 70's. he made a 5 minute film with toys unwrapping Christmas presents to release other toy's which he won competitions with. unfortunately they where all destroyed when he sent them to be converted to video in the 90's. still i remember it fondly from my childhood.
anyway my point is i know how painstakingly slow it is to do good stop motion.
Great movie with a nice light hearted theme.

Now that would have been a dream to have viewed.

yeah i do, but the latest one came with a Sigur Ros soundtrack. I got an email straight away from YouTube to tell me that if i didn't remove it EMI had the right to use it for whatever they want!
Will sort out a new one soon

Hers a cool link that an "arty" friend of mine put me onto. It's a bit freaky but very clever and must have been huge amounts of work!
