Just hooked up my Giesemann Infinity MH light unit and connected it to my IKS. The tubes and halides come on fine but the halides make a racket when they come on waking my 5 month old in the process and scaring the hell out of him. I've connected it to the mains to eliminate the IKS being a problem and the noise still occured.

The noise seems to be the mesh metal plate on the center underside vibrating when the ballasts fire up.

Does anyone have a similar problem?
What can I do to eliminate the problem?

Should I have this problem on a product I spent £850 on?

I agree i have the same problem on my unit and i had lodged a complaint with the reatiled i purchased them from, however they had a fire themselves and burnt down.

I agree with you totally out of order for a so called top of the line product/brand/manufacturer.

yeah the ballasts are a bit noisey for a few seconds when they start up,
but it isn't that big a problem for me.
i think it's just having slightly loose brackets on the reflectors and bulb holders to allow for heat expansion.

I'll try and buffer the vibration out by wedging something in.
