Moved by me :)
3 whole litres of imported Japanese power and bird pulling thrust. Automatic box, stainless steel exhaust sounds like the devil arriving at your doorstep! Full leather, aircon, momo steering wheel. Front spoiler, side skirts, whale tail rear spoiler.
As soon as I saw this car, wow, I had rather a large smile on my face and when the crooked second hand car dealer turned the key, well, I nearly had an accident!
Black is of course the colour in any car, especially sports cars and here's the reason why.
Black isn't a colour, it's actually the absence of colour. Therefore there is no pigment colour in the black paint used on the car, therefore less weight in the paint job = faster car than say one painted blue or green.
Gonna make a video for youtube so you can have a proper look at her. It runs so sweet I thought I'd stalled it at the lights.
Is it turbo or NA?
Cant see the pic till i get home.
N/A faster than I'd handle at full throttle even without turbo.
Had a test drive on Sunday and although I don't drive like a nutter it certainly gets there and FAST.

:hysterical: are you seriously on a massive wind up.
careful, these ultra rare japanese cars have been known to change colour miraculously over night.

pmsl
nice car mate, I personally wouldnt have gone for the N/A though. It is not much harder to control a TT Auto than an NA Auto, a TT manual though is a different story....
What are your plans for it? Its very hard to create a nice looking supra as they are so long in the teeth now days.
do you seriously think birds are impressed by cars like that!?
maybe the kind of birds you want to attract, thick 18 yr old chavs maybe, still if thats what you are into :D

Its not so much the birds mate its the cars themselves. Granted the N/a isnt as great as a TT but they are great sounding powerfull cars to drive
it certainlly less common then a bmw, merc but perhaps less refined.
much in a same way a muscle car appeals to people i suppose jap cars appeal to other people
if everyone was the same we would all drive hybrids at 25 mph;
diversity is what makes us different, lets not try to ridicule it but appreciate it where possible
*HUGS*
a TT is a womans car, so unless you are a lesbian looking for another lesbian, a TT doesnt have much pulling power in that respect :D

Sorry using abbreviations
N/a naturally aspirated
TT Twin Turbo
Supras come in those two flavours.
Audi TT's are camp though. ;)
TT = Twin Turbo, not an audi Muzzy
ahh sorry guys, shows my cars knowledge or lack of it!
if its birds he wants to meet he should try using the bus, you can usually get chatting with several chavs on their way to the dole office if you are lucky :D

Rich chavs you have round there - being able to afford a Buz!
The ones round here just steal a bike, and the gypos ride horses down the road, usually with a cart carrying a load of em.
Nice...

the supra is not the worst choice in the world and the main thing is you are happy.
1 thing i will say though
i was looking at r34`s 2 years ago i could`nt afford the gtr vspec being honest.
so i was going to get a gts. then i was truely advised by a friend of my dads , its not good enough, as long as i had a gts i would always want a gtr.
and lets face it.
being total honest these tanky jap tt`s are not that quick when there pulling
2 ton.
there are different trends and opinions in cars. its as personal as the cloths you where
im glad i stuck where i was.
good luck and i hope i have`nt rewened it
tony
just for the record if you ever wanted to tune it don`t try to turbo it you are better off getting the mr2 turbo lump import version and transplanting and tuning that.
if you need more info give me a bell
i tuned for many years
is that yours mate??
Yep it is mine, but I'm married, unfortunately, so haven't had the chance to pull in it...
Just have to keep a sh@tty stick in the boot to fight the birds off though

I've still got my MR2 import turbo as well. Do you mean take the turbo out of that and shove it in the Supra?
Sorry if I don't understand.

Have you not learned NOT to take anything I say on here seriously yet?:p

if you have the twin turbo import only model the lump will go straight in with a little craftman ship and is much better for tunability
900 bhp quite easily not cheap though.
have you never seen 300k?
a film of mr veil side and other major jap mods with some pritty mad motors.
i am into stealth myself.
nothing better than the look on a guys face sitting on 100 grand getting smashed to bits by a ford lol.
but like i said each therer own and you can`t discriminate they are all works of art in there own right otherwise we`d drive horses lol
http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg61/mattgrp/2small.jpg
That's my tubby. Are you saying I can put the entire engine of this car into a supra 3l or am I falling for a wind up?
That's my tubby. Are you saying I can put the entire engine of this car into a supra 3l or am I falling for a wind up?
no, he's right.
they do it quite alot in japan when doing high speed runs, as the Mr2 engines are alot lighter but can make the same power as the supra engines.

that is not twin turbo mate.
looks like single might still be possible only ever worked with the twins.
gospal truth ill try to dig the dvd out you can have it if i can find it.
i will go through some old bussiness files when im over the garage the weekend and see what i can dig out for you

22-05-08, 18:10
thanks mate i was about to break out the santa pod vids to prove my experience lol.
Twin cam turbo on the side. Raised grilles on engine bay so defo a tubby but not a twin entry turbo?
billythesquid
22-05-08, 18:29
i can`t say if it will defo but i would think we used to do large hks single turbo conversion on the tt anyway.
it is costly and needs to be done with some profesion
things that need to be thought of....
fueal supply exaust and cooling are the obvious ones.
but you will need bigger valves, valve seat angles, cams, gearing,to name a few, the turbo alone is a few grand. it could be done instages but even so you would be looking at weeks on end with no car.
and times when i ran like a dirty dog if done in stages cos things would be out of touch not the best way but has been done and would be a decimator finished though
5-8k app
i havent tuned japs in a few years now you can get english made products cheaper because of taxes and shipping but its customers choice alot of people insist on hks rads and inter/charge coolers when pace is more than good enough and fractional of price.
worth thinking about for future boardem
MR2 GT and GTS are Twin Entry Turbo.
Single turbo only. Twin Entry and Twin Cam
The N/A was Twin Cam also.
Hope this helps.
Ben
It would be more cost effective to go with a Supra TT and then convert to a Single Bigger Turbo.
Just my thoughts on it.

The hots are great cars, I was looking at a viggen hot for a bit but they are FWD only, all the power through the front hmmmm...
You are right though they well eat Boxsters but probably not much more than that ;)

Kudos to you mate, obviously you have done enough in life to afford one at 37/38 years of age....
I'm 23 now, aiming to get my second car before August, hopefully in another 3years before 30 I'll get the most potent v8 I can so by that time I'll be in Aston country hopefully.
I love the old style Astons though, they are huge boxy and have a mean presence on the road.

First time driving an automatic car for any distance. Need to learn new driving skills as I don't know what the letters mean near the gear lever (I'm not joking.)
Very pleased with the car anyway.
looks nice, cant beat black cars
drove a tt auto in the wet and it was fun going sideways up the road
heres my rwd, 350 bhp fun machine

what are the letters on the auto lever then?
If it was like the MR2, then one is the Overdrive button.
One will switch the autobox into Sports mode and the other one (Man) will allow you to manually switch between the gears, i.e 1 -> 2 -> D .... they all just adjust the gear ratios.

how much is that duke though, if you can get hold of one?
Yeah well pricy and reputed to be bit unreliable! Still cheaper for the performance than lots if not most cars you car to name!
I still think the jap bike have the advantage and you can find a dealer too!
That can be a problem with the import cars, getting bits for what model sir?!!!!

Mike I'm looking to get either an S15 or R34 GTT, still at crossroads
How on earth did you manage to get the SR20det up to 350 on the standard gearbox???
gorgeous car though mate, i like kouki but the rear view isnt as nice, thats why im going for s15.
i take it your on sxoc....;)
is that at this years japfest?
no was acouple of years ago and I got blacked flagged when out on track for been too noisey
Haulme, not too difficult to get the power up, turbo, injectors, maf, apexi pfc, cams and the other basics, gearbox is holding up but once you get closer to 400 bhp they start to mash up, have got a z32 tt box in the garage that I may fit one day
You wont go far wrong with a S15, far better than a R34GTT and easier to modify
Yeah sxoc is a good resource for info also driftworks
