Very strange!!!
Are they new batteries that you put into it, as low batteries can cause spurious results?
If they are can you give me a call in the morning and we can try and work out what is going wrong, it's not something I have ever heard of before. 02380 428925.

Fuzed.
I use these and have found them very reliable. I'm sure Steve will sort it out but in the meantime a suggestion. If you open up the battery compartment of the remote sensor you will find a reset button. It may be worth switching off the display unit and then trying a reset on the remote sensor. Then switch the display back on again. The display will flash with 3 dashes until the remote sensor sends a new signal.
I hope your tank wasnt at 34.2C

will try new batteries.... if not then think I've got a dodgey unit...
Thanks guys, Steve, as Always thanks for the support! :)
got it guys, thanks and it works woohoo - I'll get the faulty one back to you in the post asap.
Our pinpoint thermometer has just done the EXACT same thing. Tried new batteries and a reset and it's now reading 43C!!!
It has been working for 3 months and just went gaga last week. Did you find out what was wrong with it?

We are still awaiting Fuzed's returned unit, once we get it we can see what caused the problem. As it is the first one to have done something like this we have no idea what has caused it yet. If you can hold on till we have inspected the unit, we can then see if it needs to be replaced. you are obviously covered by the warranty, so it will be replaced if we can't find the cause.
Steve
Thanks for your help. Unfortunately we bought it second hand but unused from another UR member so I don't have any proof of purchase. However, if you can narrow down the fault to the transmitter at least I would be happier replacing it.
Sharon
I'll post mine out on monday! :)
