Looks like there is a jay in the photo - didn't notice it at the time!

I think that "No Parking", for some reason makes me laugh, as if someone has parked that cow there :P

Good pics :)

all pics are fine, however, there is always room for improvement, so don't take this as a lambasting :)

#1 - the pic is sharp which is good, depth of field is all wrong though, the back ground distracts, it tells me you have been walking through a public riverside with some cows that everyone goes to, rather than letting my imagine run wild and think you had been clambering through fields and been super brave to get so close to the cows to get the shot. I dunno, a bit of PP may sort it out, with a tactical crop and clone out the sign which is very distracting.
Failing that try shooting the cows from a different angle, using depth of field as your friend.

#2&3 - like alot, the river leads your eye up the pic. However, they are over cooked a little bit and the highlights are just a bit too bright.

#4 and 5 - are non descript. 4 = a head on shot of green leaves, with no place for your eye to follow/fall on. Same with 5, it's an in ya face river shot, the shot could have been much better if you had got down lower to the ground and added a bit of horizon in there.

#6 - is a flower, good use of macro function, giving a good DoF. however, its composed a bit too central for me, try putting the flower on one of the thirds and leaving some negative space on the other side of the pic.

Like i said, these are not bad pics at all, but you asked for a crit ;)

Here i had a quick fiddle to show you what i mean

The cows one is open to interpretation, i trained the focus on the cow doing the most interesting thig (looks like it's in mid "moo") i cheated with the flower one and added some pic to the left :o

Thanks Paul
feedback much appreciated - really good tips and things to try next time. I've started to try to apply the rule of thirds to pictures - here's a couple I took in the garden yesterday.
Thanks again

Its your own fault.Didn't you see the "NO PARKING" sign.I had to use the new style cow ear parking ticket.DON'T DO IT AGAIN.lol.
The photos look good to me.Then again any photo of mine that ACTUALLY shows what I was looking at is a bonus.
