I'm guessing you're all ready and waiting for the next instalment in Ultimate Reefs TOTM series! Get yourself a big mug of coffee as you're going to be sitting for a while!
This month we're switching focus from SPS to LPS! Alright, there's a few SPS in the tank but the focus is predominantly more LPS. Each of these corals are absolutely mind blowing and without a doubt we'll all be wishing for just a single piece to grace our own tank. The corals are covered I hear you say but what about the fish? Well you're certainly not going to be disappointed... there is an abundance of fish and some absolute stunners to boot
I think it's fair to say that the owner of this months TOTM has an incurable addiction... addicted to fish, addicted to LPS and addicted to this great hobby of ours! Long may the addiction continue...
Congratulations Matt, you've got a stunningly beautiful tank.

Superb Matt, very well deserved mate.
Great tank,Matt.Your write up makes it sound so easy.I am sure you have left loads out.Well done for being TOTM.
Well done mate, I love the fact you can have it looking so nice and run it so simple. Just goes to show it can be done without all the gadgets and doo-berrys!
YAY!
I had a feeling your tank was coming up for TOTM.
bloody stunning mate, to think you nearly shut it down last year as you were losing interest!
well deserved
and guys - NO SKIMMER!
Beautiful, congrats Matt.
Think this is a great tank of the month, Matt - You've a lovely tank thats full to the brim with cracking fish and also some stunning Corals. Very well deserved, hope to come see it in the flesh one day :D:D
Great tank Matt cant wait to see it
It's will make a change from the norm to see a large tank running with T5 lighting and no skimmer

Nice tank, well done :)
Stunning - absolutely bl00dy stunning! :worship:
This tank seems to break so many of the 'rules' - no skimmer, no halides, no regular water changes and heavily stocked. Yet for my mind (also being an LPS fan) it one of the best tanks I've ever seen.
I'm currently planning my new tank along similar lines and If I can get anywhere near this level of perfection I shall be very, very pleased.
Congratulations!
Superb tank Matt - look forward to seeing it in the flesh!
Looks like "just one more fish" isn't your only vice though :p - corals are getting a little crowded too although it has to be said it is a stunning collection of healthy LPS. :)

Congratulations and well done :applause:
Another Skimmer-free system eh...
Very impressed with your Tank, especially considering all the trouble you went through and really glad you stuck at it.
As we all know, only good things happen slowly in our tanks.
I hope in a few years time mine can be as close to yours...;)

Well done Matt.
I allways thought this tank had won this before to be honest, im glad its been put right now.
The standard of a lot of tanks on here is pretty amazing and this one is up there with them, plus with such a natural run system.:applause:

nice tank mate!
Congratulations Matt, it's a great tank, well done.
Interesting to see two of the last three TOTMs are 'low-tech' Eco-systems, food for thought there surely?
Also very interesting to see you have two pipefish in there, have they been there long, do you see much of them?

Everywhere you look there are fish and corals..
And the Gem Tang, is a beauty.
Congrats ...:worship:
andy
Congrats a real cracker nice to see a change from sticks and halides or 40 x t5 tubes :D
Congratulations on your beautiful tank, Matt. I see your tank is 21 months old and you have a thriving refugiam with MM and 24h lit algae in it. How long was it until the refugiam became productive, 'pod life in my tank is very very high'? I ask because I have MM, 12hour reverse lit chaeto and no skimmer and only very few pods. The tank is 3 months old but I would have thought to see more life in the refugiam by now...
Awesome tank and some of the most stunning LPS in there :applause::applause::applause:
