What you reckon? Messes with my mind a bit this one.

(it's an upside down water reflection of the trees for those of you who don't get it!)

Super shots yet again Claude. The first shot could be from a car commercial - moody, and almost monochrome - very simple and a super perspective - lots of impact IMO.

Like the shot of the castle, particularly how you have sought out a place in the riverbank so the reflection is shown in full.

The boat I'm not so keen on. I'm sure the techs are spot on but a photo where the horizon is dead centre seldom, if ever, works. I don't think this one does. Cropping from the top makes it a better pic IMO.

Crab's eye view is cool but the big OOF rock dead centre foreground is unfortunate and detracts from the image.

Would be interested to know the shooting location of all the photos.

hey, ta for comments, i hear ya.

The boat pic was intended to be a 'reflecty' thing, i guess there wasn't enough water on the ground to give a decent reflection

The crabs eye view was a shot i took by chance, held the cam low to some rocks and hut the shutter release, i wasn't really expecting much from it, when i saw it, i imagined i was a little crab :)

I had an annoying day shooting yesterday, ran out of petrol, snapped my tripod, mised the sunrise due to cloud cover and the shots i got didn't really do that much for me.

They were all taken really early morning (between 3am and 9am).

The tree pic was taken in Northumberlandm between Ford and Wooler

The car pic was on the causeway out to Lindisfarne (Holy) Island. It's kinda symbolic in that the causeway floods twice a day, blocking any passage to the island. Too many times cars are caught and stranded by the tides EVERY year, despite numerous warnings.

The boat was actually on Lindisfarne, the coastal castle pic was at Boulmer, and the river castle is the infamous 'Harry Potter' castle - Alnwick castle.

Some absolutely stunning shots.

1st one should be a car advert, so I'm same as John on that one :P Still a great shot.

Castle one is my favourite :D

It pitch black where I live at 3 AM.

Really great photos (despite the dark)

Thanks for the info on locations. Funny how things going wrong have a habit of all happening at once. Your shooting times show a bit of dedication but the results are certainly worth it! I (sadly) haven't got that unless I am in an African national park when I am the first out of the camp. :D

As said for me the car photo is just superb. :worship:

It seems pitch black here (i.e. on the outskirts of Newcastle, where I live) at 3am, but once i get out of the city glare (light pollution is one of my pet hates) and into the country, the light is already on its way up at that time, especially at this time of year. I'm not saying it's sunny or anything, but there is enough light to capture a decent shot with a slow shutter speed.

Super pics,as per the others really.Car shot is very commercial,Peugeot would love it lol.
The rest, well i cant say i have much to critique, they are just super shots.
The boat looks a bit under exposed if im being ultra picky and there seems to be a bright patch on the right side of the mast, still a superb shot though!!!

All the pics are stunning - as expected. I really like the one of the boat despite it breaking the 'rules'.
Have you got one of the causeway without the car? Reckon it would be impressive.
cheers

firstly ---wow, but i'm sure you get lots of them :)

that first reflection tree image had me confused- looks like the 'real' bank line is the water reflection.

As said the first car one is awesome- the second car one is odd in the way that it looks almost computer graphic-y-
taken using your hrdi technique i assume.

my 21st soon and on the wish list is a dslr of some nikon description,
fingers crossed i can get some images to rival yours ;)

lovely shots, really superb!!!

the only thing i would change (and i know feck all about the actual art of taking pics) is that in the car shots, i would have liked to have seen the front wheels turned the other way. I appreciate that it would then give the idea that the car was about to drive though the fence, but, the profile of the alloy would have given a bit of light and shape to an otherwise very dark area due to the tyre.

that is the ONLY thing i would change. the texture of the pics is second to none, i absolutely love the causeway ones especially, with the road trailing off to the horizon, beautiful.

your mind is in exactly the same place as mine, i kinda wish now i had moved a bit more to the right to get the alloy in to give a bit more colour. In the last pic the tyre is a bit wet, which gives a bit of contrast, bit not much.

Nice spot.
