Hi,
Does anyone know when the new gen2 MP40's will be available for sale?
Could I get a price and where/how to buy one if I wanted to...thanks!
Lastly, the backup battery solution sounds very ideal but is it like a UPS system which kicks in automatically or must it be manually activated? A UPS like system is ideal if your away on holiday or at work and a manual is as good as the generator I just bought!

The back up acts like a dedicated ups for the pump.

Excellent, a dedicated UPS and with such a long battery life this should come very handy considering the latest blackouts.

Will you be supplying the new wet side separately.
They seem to be selling it direct to the public for $9.49 at the moment?
What about upgrading the driver with the new firmware, they are providing that free as it can be done wirelessly between any controller.
Should of read the other thread with the press release :whistling: tells me what i needed to know.
Any update on when these are going to be available for purchase.
Jez - you noted 4weeks time on this thread, back on the 2nd June - just wondered if you could update the thread and advise as I'm sure there are a few peeps looking to purchase a unit. Would also be useful if you are able to list participating dealers as would prefer to use a local dealer if possible.

STM have the newer version.
Website probably shows the old info but its the new ones we are supplying.
Lots of invasion going on with these and it will benefit new and existing users.
Where can we buy the new plastic wet side from ?
Now they are selling it for $9.99 in USA, no doubt we'll have to pay 50 quid for it over here :laugh:

We had just a few gen2's last week brought over by Pat from Ecotech on a UK visit. We will have more and upgrade kits hopefully end of next week. The new pumps are the perfect evolution of the product.
The magnets are now fully coated with abs rather than the nano coating. The firmware gives you extra modes including a wave memory mode so once you have your perfect wave, you can recall it if you play around with other modes. The reef crest mode now is more vigorous and ideal for sps and corals that like serious flow. The lagoon mode moves more water but in a more gently way ideal for goni's and other lagoon lps.
Also is the night mode that drops the power 50% for the chosen period.
The power consumption running heat are all improved with the new firmware.
Stores like STM and other will have a demonstration pump with Gen2 firmware and will act as upgrade center's. I have to put this fully in place over the next few weeks once we have the new pumps and will post here who will be able to do the upgrades. The firmware upgrade takes about 5 mins and is conducted over wireless.

Just a heads up we now have the Gen2 pumps available and upgrade kits
I will be upgrading pumps at Heritage /Wharf/STM this week so you can get the firm ware upgrade, I will announce more as they get the new pumps up and running.
As a matter of courtesy do not turn up or travel to these shops without calling ahead as sure as I am that they will be happy to upgrade your firm ware it will take about 10 mins and on busy days or when staff are off it may not be possible to provide this service without prior arrangement.
more will have the pumps soon so a little patience.
The cost of new magnets and upgrade parts will be £7.99 everybody in the loop will be doing this as a non profit upgrade to give you the best propeller pump on the market. So don't forget to say thanks.
If you are still running yours without a controller you can upgrade your pump to the latest specs and get the benefit of Gen2 for little money.
The controller brings this pump to life, it is on a completely different level in terms of what it can do for water movement than anything I have used before. I recently had the opportunity to watch Pat from Ecotech set-up pumps on some shop systems. Its not till you watch an old hand you realise what a wide range of waves you can get from these pumps. The standing wavebox type of thing is the most obvious but with a little practice in most aquariums you can get fantastic double and triple waves that push through corals in the most natural of ways, combine this with the powerful under tow designed into these pumps and corals get fantastic flow.
With the upgraded firmware once you have your perfect wave you simply hit save and you can recall it anytime you like. Just one of the great new modes.

We have the Gen2 firmware on our pumps here, so if you are local and would like to have yours upgraded give us a call and we can arrange a time. Like the other retailers it does take a little time, so at busy times we will not be able to perform the upgrades.

If you want a Magnet upgrade give us a call at the shop and we will do it mail order for you.
If anyone far away has a pump that requires upgrading to new software if you are prepared to pay for the postage both ways again we would be happy to help.
Please don't forget that the retailers make not a single penny out of doing an upgrade or selling you a magnet.
